Is Xbox Live worth the $6 a month?

I was just given an Xbox 360 and i don't want to pay the fee but I'd like some input.

i pay for the whole year up front for the price break, and yes its definitely worth it if youre gonna play... its worth it to have netflix as well, as crazy as it sounds... netflix is so convenient and it gives me ideas on movies to watch...

I can't justify it... to me, games seem like a monumental waste of your life.

ya i think its worth it if i am alone then i can play multiplayer and beat other players out.

realistically when xbox live you dont even have to have a video game to entertain yourself in one way or another... theres free content, shows, video game trailers, etc... i would say if the fee would be not too much of an inconvenience get it, but if it would be a slight burden to take on another monthly fee, wait until a better time... then again you can always give it a shot for a month and see how you like it...

I do play games on occasion, it's a fun thing to do when hanging out with friends, et cetera, The bulk of my life is dedicated to other things, however... I just don't play enough to justify it, because if I did, I would be wasting a lot of time.

If you like COD4 multiplayer like I do it's better to play with a real controller than a pc controller, more immersive - I don't own a 360 but I have friends who do. $6 a month is not bad, considering all the benefits you get; as opposed to say something like World of Warcraft, where you are paying $15 a month for a single game , which in and of itself is only mediocre at best.

lol i wouldnt say its mediocre, if it was mediocre they wouldnt have no where near the fan base it has... 11.5 million subscribers, blizzard must be doing something right... with the release of WOTLK, and call of the crusade they definitely created interesting new content, along with enough other new things to keep people interested... the cataclysm xpac looks better than TBC and WOTLK at least in concept... it will definitely be the largest change to wow...

as for cod4, and all other shooters, definitely prefer them with a keyboard and mouse... infinitely more control... i hate goin from a pc to console to play a shooter, its like my hands go retarded...

Totaly worth the $4 a month but if you just wanna play your games online you dont have to pay. Just make a new account every month and you get a free one month gold subscpition to XBL. You just have to tell your friends and make new email every month, you will lose your gamerscore but that doesn't really do anything.

The content and game demos are worth the little bit every month and the killer servers make the online experience way better then on a Ps3. Not to mention it has some really cool games like Puzzle Quest .. beat that game 3 times. Cool

Ps. If you like the 360 controller and play alot of pc games, use the wired 360 controller. Works for 95% of the games and I'm so used to it that I can do better in some shooters with it.

i had a 360 controller before i had a 360, bought it for playing GTA titles, definitely some games i prefer to have a controller for... also works for all the roms i play on my pc...

Like I said, immersion factor. Sure I'm all thumbs for a few lives, but after shell shock wears off the novelty of a controller vs the insensitive keyboard makes the experience all the better. IMO, at least.

Anywho, I'd definitely say xbox live is worth $6 a month, even and especially if you intend to use it for just one month, if only to experience all you're missing otherwise.

Off topic a bit but as for WoW, I'm debating whether or not to try Cata. Most likely not. Don't really feel like plopping down another $40 on a game I got bored of after 1 month... sure it's easy to level (1-70 in two weeks and 70-80 in another) but you can't even buy houses let alone decorate them in that game... Then again I was spoiled on Star Wars Galaxies, and after that I'm not paying $15 a month if I can't at least design or decorate something in game.

Worth it, but play Yearly better that way £40 a year over here.

Never played a PS3 online but my mates say the service sucks...

Its definately worth it. Some of the best features of the 360 are online.
