Hey mate, you are not entering your IP on the site its just a guide, it's basically asking you to log into your router. In order to this you need to use the IP address of the netgear router.
The default for 99% of all Netgears is 192.168.0.1, if you type this in the address bar of internet explorer, this is the section where you normally type a web site address, there is no www. before the address. The default username and password is as follows
User: admin
Password: password
The rest of the info on the guide located at http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/WPN824v2/Utorrent.htm does seem quite sound. If you need anymore information or get stuck just let me know. |

It depends on the seeds but average anything from a pitiful 5k to 70k on
utorrent
. (do occasionally get higher but thats the average)
I found
Vuze
quicker on average 20k-150.
I love downloading from
thebox
(fuc*en quick as, 100-200+!) only has UK production though. |

Yeah, I am stuck.
My router is 1.1 at the end but I didn't know what ip address to enter for the SERVER (at the very bottom). I looked at the netgear instructions (to the right of where you enter the info) and it said to enter the computer IP address where it says server ip.
ANyway, I tried it again and downloaded the port checking tool on that site and it said that it was not being forwarded which I guess would explain why utorrent didn't speed up after I tried it last night.

µtorrent... And mostly 600kb/s, but there are a few exceptions (mostly 50~200kb/s)
Sometimes it gets a bit annoying, but I guess I shouldn't complain now I see some of the other speeds people get here |

Wow.. you guys don't know how to properly set up your client properly or are you just to cheap to fork over some cash for a proper internet connection?
I pay for 10Mbps max average 7Mbps and I download from 750 - 1.1MBps |

i would say utorrent is the best i have tried a few others. but they took lots of memory and slowed the comp down. |
