isoHunt Censoring AGW Skeptics

Hi

Recently I posted a new release for Not Evil Just Wrong.
http://isohunt.com/release/333537/not+evil+just+wrong?poster=&cat=-1

I posted a torrent under the release. It was disabled with the message:
".torrent link has been disabled due to copyright"

I believe this is rubbish. I believe the people running this site are left-wing and purposely out to censor their opposition.

Who agrees with me?

No-one agrees with you. Torrents will be removed at mods discretion if a takedown notice is recieved by copyrighters. Try reading the disclaimers and site rules.

isoHunt follows DMCA and it appears you have upset a copyright owner prepared to actually put in a complaint asking for it to be taken down, other than just trying to shut the site down by other means. In your case it was probably done by the so called "righties" who made the documentary and its them that do not want their views spread for free.

By the way, who is our opposition? Why are we opposed and what was the subject you think we are opposed to?

My God, have you even read some of their posts?
Also if you look into the Forums you will find a veritable spectrum of views and opinions freely expressed and argued. If they are censoring "opposition" ideas they aren't doing a very good job because it seems everyone gets to have a say. There was even this one post where a bloke accuses them of being "Left-wing" and "purposely out to censor their opposition" and they didn't censor it.

Yes the Mods do what they like. IH is definitely a dictatorship, but it's a benevolent dictatorship. You joined up and agreed to certain conditions for membership, basically you relate to them on their terms. Get over yourself, the overwhelming majority are more than happy with the way things are being run around here - comrade.

My point exactly. It's like a communist saying that people will be arrested at his discretion.

I find it implausible that isoHunt doesn't receive take down notices for a major film like say 2012, but does for a documentary.

1. Your post wasn't removed by any mod, as you stated.
2. You may find many things implausible, but that doesn't make your argument fact.
3. Who said we were opposed to anything, its your mind having a great time imagining things, without really knowing the facts.
4. If we were a dictatorship, do you think your thread would have been here longer than 10 seconds?
5. Why do film makers NOT report via DMCA? It would spoil their case in court most likely. Reason is not the MPAA's great asset.

Mate, living in Brisbane, doesn't make Kangaroo courts any more palatable. lol

We never agreed to that here.

You were the one that in fact agreed to our terms when you joined this site.
This has, of course, already been said, but I don't really think you care.

What you have here is obviously an agenda of your own, and it has nothing to do with this site, or for that matter anyone else.

If you had been on the other end of this and had downloaded material that had corrupted or damaged your computer, you would be equally as angry and asking us why that content wasn't removed.

Human psychology is indeed an interesting thing.

If a company asks IsoHunt to take down their copyrighted content then they will comply. Do you think they are going to fight another lawsuit because of your documentary? I think not. I dont see you going to court either.
So you can either accept the terms of your registration and get over it, otherwise you can go elsewhere.

Communism never really appealed to me, it makes a lot of assumptions, just as every political system tried up to this point seems to for that matter.

Everyone here is for sharing and free speech, but we have to operate the forums in a level of controlled chaos and respect DMCA notices when they are submitted just to keep things alive here.

Until the system we are all forced to operate within changes, sadly situations like this will more than likely continue to occur. I just wish the OP had realized what actually happened here instead of making the assumption we personally had an agenda against him and his beliefs. Sad truth is though this site operates world wide, and you're just never going to make every last person happy.

Tinos, if your message is so important that you're willing to walk into someone else's house and insult them over it you should at least post your argument here. You don't have a hope of looking good otherwise.

He was lashing out, he was upset and I suppose I can see why, he simply made some incorrect assumptions.

He's more than welcome to state his position and have it debated here, we have no intention of interfering with that.

Sadly, I'm not sure we'll ever hear from him again.
