Same thing happened, not to concerned though, I'm borrowing my internet from a neighbor who doesn't know how to put a password on their wireless router. Broke as hell right now. Can't complain when its free. Thank you though. |

Im in the Valley, California and so far so good with Charter Communications Cable connection, just tested it with M-Labs tools. Everything seems to be working fine. Although when in attempt to Download Movies, I seem to get those, we know you downloaded a Movie from Warner Bros. ect, its illegal so you need to erase it, or else, ect.
But when I used to use Comcast Cable, I never got those emails and Id always get faster speeds then what I was paying for, on www.speedtest.net |

I'm In the UK.... and I've had to get a Seeder to get around the throttling... and not just that, but the minimal upload speed - which in itself is probably the best way of throttle speeds.
At my home i get MAX 45kbs -
its awful - it is like 1999 and Limp Bizkit where popular and i had yet to see Tommy lee! HAHA |

Bell Internet in Canada throttles, and discriminates packets so that they can give their approved sites a better connection.
there is a group for internet neutrality suing them currently. |

i reach the limit of my computer isp's capablity, but i do believe im throttled by my isp. verizon is my isp. i had to pay extra money to get a higher download upload speed, but i read people getting 400 or more kB's a second, and i get at best, about 210.
wonder why? |
I just escaped the strangle hold of the cellular broadband, an wow what a good feeling it is. Sounds like average for verizon. I had cricket an it was very close. but what they did that really got me heated was after 5 gigs of download they would put the brakes on me for the rest of the month. Both companies have admited they can acheive 2 mb with their current systems. So yes they are short stroing everybody even the ones who pay more. Now that i have qwest dsl im downloading average 700 kb with a peak of 1100 kb, again im being thorteled but not so bad when i can get a movie in 15 minutes. |

sounds like a way against piracy. piracy or unathorized copying (I don't call it stealing) makes all kinds of problems. look at how expensive new releases are. games would be far cheaper if everyone would buy them and then torrents wouldn't exist anymore. and you would get record sales too. stop whining. get a job and buy games like the rest of us do. when you were young, you didn't illegaly copy the toys because they were too expensive. you either replicated them, saved money or were just jealous of your rich friends. and if my line crashes only because so many keep downloading and uploading with full speed, then I would be glad to live in a big brother society. I don't want to get disconnected from listening to ChatAboutIt or watching Journeyman Pictures on their website because you can't pause downloading games and movies at peak hours. how much of all internet speed is from torrents? 70%? well it wouldn't matter if everyone would download games from Steam but at least it's worth it. I already bought Pro Street but I don't have it anymore, and some shows and documentaries are rare to find. then torrents come and help. |
