Well at least you got it sorted Smile

The reason I always said to burn at 1x is to prevent disc errors.
Its quite easy for a disc to go wrong by burning too fast.
Its up to you but Verbatims are quite expensive so I would recommend no higher than 2x.

Understood, but the minimum speed reported by the media itself in ImgBurn is 4x. As I say, it's a brand new burner and seems to work okay at 4x, otherwise I'd agree that slower would likely be better.

By way of an update, wave4 games work fine with iExtreme 1.2 firmware after patching with 360WavesPatcher.

Hi Pacino here in shanghai i got Avatar Bayonetta rogue warrior and some other new stuff.
I suffered the "play dvd" problem when in the drive.
Found a link to solve it so if you haven't had this problem yet but may encounter it later here is a fix.

cool.
just got caught out with it. I hear they now got a new update making the disk also no longer needed. Gonna have to get my box down to the local whizzkid.

There is new firmware available soon, iXtreme LT.
I would wait for that to be released before upgrading the firmware.
For now the activate disc will play anything as it bypasses security and will play any backup you put in the console afterwards.
Unfortunately this means it will also play unstealthed and downgraded games so please be carefull.

There is a contents page at the end of the guide on page 1 if you need anything else. Have a good read through mate, there is lots of relevent info for you.

If you get stuck or dont understand something, just ask here and you will get a pretty fast response.

I have made a couple of changes to this thread that I would like to point out as it is fairly important.
I have added a disclaimer to this guide as Im getting a little pissed with people complaining in my inbox about banned consoles.
Basically if you choose to play backups then its your choice alone. I also thought it would be the decent thing to cover IsoHunts back.
If any of the mods need me to edit this for whatever reason please let me know.
Lastly I have added Q&A to the thread title as this is basically what it is and needed pointing out.
So please ask all Xbox 360 backup related questions here rather than making a new thread. Its what the sticky is for.

Also all feedback is welcome so if you have suggestions, post them.

You need a modded console to play backups.
If you have that and everything else on the list you are good to go.
Just follow the guide and dont deviate.

sooooo...... I just figured out how to play movies off of my laptop on my 360 wirelessly, and it got me thinking would it be possible to play backups from my laptop? and would you still need a modded box?

No chance. You need a modded console.
Also if you had a modded console then why would you need to play it on your PC? Laughing

Great guide mate, I followed it to the letter and all looks good (as in the disc is burnt)! Very Happy

I personally don't have an x-box as this was done for the son, so will test it tomorrow and let you know.
