| I downloaded WinRAR and finished extracting the files for Sims-life stories. I went to the folder that it was put in and clicked the WinRAR book things and it opened WinRAR and showed me more files that needed to be extracted. Every time I click something it says it needs to be extracted. Is this supposed to happen and should I click all of the icons so it extracts everything? And what is the name or icon that is supposed to start the game? Thanks in advance for any help given. |
Easier way just right click and click Extract to " Folder Name " |

My motherboard went and died on me and need to reinstall my Photoshop plugins.
Read through this help thread and saw can unzip anything with a r. extension, ie a winrar file with 7Zip, so did that with one of the several individual dfx plugins (which i really really need ) then opened up Photoshop>preferences>plugins and added one - but it doesn't come up in the 'filters' dropdown when I exited and restarted PS Where did it go? Haven't tried with any of the others yet
Please help |

you need to right click on the first one and extract it to where you want it, the extracted file will be your iso
if you have no winrar on your right click menu ( i haven't, dont really know why!) you can open the first rar file and drag the file inside to a location and it will extract it that way |

Hi
butchcass
welcome to the isohunt forums over a year after you joined! It's nice to know that some people actually read the stickies before asking a question!
Have a +1 for checking the stickies and not asking a question we've answered over a 1000 times! |

Pls help me...... This has worked for me many times however I have tried using both Winrar & 7zip to "link" a film. It worked exept the sound is missing, If I open one of the individual files I can watch that section with sound, but once linked its gone - what am I missing? |

Hi
puffin99
I don't understand about trying to link a film? What are you exactly trying to do? Have you got a movie that's split into 2 files and you want to join them as one? More clearer info please. |

The reason for splitting up a file is so that people can download faster
Explanation: If you are just downloading an iso then you can only download from someone who has the iso but if it is in multiple files if they have one of the smaller files then you can download it although i am not sure of it's uses in non-peersharing torrents |
It has sense only with big files >1GB but for small files like TV shows <400MB it's absolutely worthless! |

As I'm sure I've said before in this very thread.
The original reason was so that when corrupt data was in part of the download, you would only need to re-download the one bad section.
however, with bittorrent hash checks pretty much prevent this from happening. Making it pointless for video and audio, as the current formats for both of them are already as dense and packed as they are going to get, since size is not being reduced it makes no sense to use the method on bittorrent. I'm sure it still has it's uses in other mediums, just not in this one. |

I am having some troubles extracting the files for Mass Effect 2.
Honestly, I'm sure its a user-mistake; this is my first time doing this, I've only ever downloaded music before. If I could get some guidance though, it would be nice.
I have folders set up to extract the files to, but I don't know what the problem is. Here's what WinRAR says my errors were...
! C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect 2\DVD1\rzr-me2a.001: Cannot create rzr-me2a.iso
! Access is denied.
! C:\Program Files (x86)\Mass Effect 2\DVD1\rzr-me2a.001: No files to extract
Not sure what this means... I clicked the 001 file and chose extract to... picked my folders I have set up where I want this. Not working. Do I need to extract this directly to the MagicIso Disk?
Just a little confused and the instructions I'm using were good but not thorough. |

Are you running this as administrator? Access denied suggests you do not have permission to create the folders. Try running the task as admin, or extracting to another location. But that wouldnt explain the 'no files to extract' error, so perhaps they are corrupt as thetazzzz suggests. |
