I received this on our copyright address today...

convention. They had innocently posted their photos on their own
family web page and <redacted> found them and has spread this and
other pictures all over the net, and has altered some of the images,
inciting other child predators to follow in his wake.

I am asking for your assistance in stopping this internet predator.

Now, why would Christine send an email like this to our copyright address? Oh, right, to assassinate another person's character by calling them a pedophile. What evidence is there to back up this conclusion? Oh, about 7 posts over at bitsnoop.com's blog ( 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ). If you compare the linked to picture marked (NSFW) in post #5 titled ("Joe,%20Chris,%20Corvis%20&%20Don.jpg") to the filenames in the link Christine sent us, you'll notice a similarity. So, Christine Filipak claimed that photos of herself, with some book author were photos of a 15 year old girl who's allegedly being abused. What? That's not enough proof? Well, how about this: Borders%20signing%2010-15-05.jpg ... same filename as the first file in the reported link (which doesn't look like a 15 year old girl to me). 7th file down in the complained of link is titled Joe, Chris, Corvis & Don.jpg , which is Christine Filipak. Oh, crap, caught publicly in a lie. Good job that.

So, what happened here? Nox Arcana's DMCA agent got upset that one of her DMCA notifications was posted online and decided to start a smear campaign against the guy running bitsnoop.com. In most countries, there's a couple legal terms for this degree of defamation of character: libel and slander. Libel is defined as: a false and malicious publication printed for the purpose of defaming a living person. Slander is defined as: words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another. Given that both html and email are written, and not spoken, this would be identified as libel, since slander is often identified as only being spoken word, not written word. Still, slander and libel are both actionable (meaning you can get sued over). Considering the owner of bitsnoop is identified as living in Russia, it'd be kinda hard for him to sue over this... so, since I don't appreciate being lied to, especially about something as serious as kiddie porn (which, btw, we remove immediately upon receipt of notice, and it's usually not hard to spot kiddie porn from the titles and filename listings).

My hope is that would-be customers of Nox Arcana and Monolith Graphics reconsider spending their money with people who're willing to infer that *we* (us being torrent sites, and you being torrent site visitors) are all child predators/pedophiles (see post #6).

Is this an endorsement by us of bitsnoop.com? Nope
Do we think it's completely unacceptable to dream up some lies about someone just because you're unhappy with something they've done? Very much so, which is why this post is on the front page.

Oh, about that disclaimer, please see "stupid disclaimers" , here , or here . Basically, the jist of what I'm saying is that since I haven't agreed not to disclose the above email, there's no binding contract to that effect, which means that the "expressly forbidden" part of her signature is false and misleading.

This is quite funny actually.
Most likely because I'm not the one personally having to deal with it. I can say we remove any offensive content related to children even the stuff that isn't actually considered illegal in nature without needing to be told to.

If they want to come after someone they should target the "tiny models" websites which contain nothing but suggestive pictures of 'non-nude' underage girls. They operate under the guise of some sort of modeling agency, but the pictures are disgusting children in underwear and bathing suits in suggestive poses. Apparently all run by the people responsible for this.

I don't suggest actually looking at said sites unless you want to be offended. I'm providing what can easily be found on google though. I can't directly link whois info, but I'm sure plenty of you know how to find it. The contents of the above contain materials the moderators of this site
and I'm sure a number of other torrent sites, are constantly removing and banning users for uploading It's disgusting, but apparently legal and allowed to continue. So for those of you that would like to actually do something useful in the fight against child pornography.

There's a good target to start with, and yes I actually am personally suggesting a campaign against them. I'm tired of removing their smut from this site, and disgusted by the fact they are allowed to continue. I say all this as an individual and not a representative of this site, though I'm quite certain IH, SS, and the users of this site agree with me on this.

People like SecretSquirrel has linked above are actually hurting the fight against child pornography by wasting the time and resources of the people that actually track uploaders of child pornography, remove content, and arrest offenders.

...and as a footnote let's all show " Christine Filipak (of Monolith Graphics / Nox Arcana)" our love and concern by not supporting her, her company, or her smear campaign against torrenters the world over.

...and go one step better by doing something about it ourselves.

Ferret I coudnt agree more.

Im always very carefull what I download but have at times, fallen fowl of the wrong torrent. Obviously I have never searched for torrent names that would lead me to this kind of thing and hesitate even now to do it to prove my point (just in case my search is recorded) Confused

I have faith in the powers that monitor this type of thing throughout the the world.

Its a battle they can never win but I think they do a sterling job Head Bang

I lived with a child protection officer who was in the London MET Police and it was a harrowing job for her. She was a tortured soul just from the work she did everyday.

Im not aware how much child porn gets past the filters/Mod`s on Bow

ISOHUNT but I have always held this site in very high esteem.

Yeah, tiny models needs to be shut down.
It's a messed up thing to even have to discuss, but I honestly believe people should be aware it exist and do something to get rid of it.

is all you require to get the site's registration information.
Not always reliable but it's the best starting place to figure out who is actually behind it being there in the first place.

I guess I'm on the computer so much I forget some people don't know they can just pull that up; that it's public information.

Ok so the above sites have been reported to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP)

Time will tell what they have to say about this stuff. For now we will just have to wait.

So f*****d up on so many levels! The people that run these sites can't even claim it is just to make money...not right at all...but good to remember that we are the majority and the people that look at this crap are in the minority!

IH doesn't host anything, it's simply an indexing site.

So what if they found the pictures in IH, it's not our responsibility to manage every release people upload.

People really don't know what's runs around IH.

Its a no brainer really.

Im happy to say that I have a good friend who works with abused children leading the charge on this so I cant really take the credit.

Also Ferret really pointed this out but im not sure as I should be thanking him as its made me pretty sad.
