Congratulations, I'm leaving this site and never using it ever again. The search engine is a complete joke, and has been rendered absolutely unusable.

Harsh words. This site is a privilege for us to use. Be grateful that Isohunt is bending over backward to accommodate us because our ridiculous legal system attempts to extend it's jurisdiction to the entire solar system. Isohunt Lite is a fantastic alternative to nothing at all. Thank you, Isohunt, for continuing to find new ways for us to access information. I suggest that we all be grateful and appreciative of what we have.

Also, thank you to jenga122 for that invaluable piece of information.

Just to let US users know, if you do a hash check on the torrent in Isohunt Lite [by clicking on the little question mark] you can still read the comments that are posted in the regular Isohunt search engine.

Worked like a charm, bro. Appreciate it.

2 things that doesn't seem to be understood about isoHunt Lite:

* We are still caching .torrent files. Search results link to original site they are indexed from but at bottom of results are Cached links you can use if original site has changed. No different from other search engines on that

* Sort uses the same default and best ranking as on regular isoHunt. It combines seeds/leechers, rating, search relevance and age to give you the best results. It's better than sorting by only seeds or leechers and it really is an unnecessary habit inherited from usual sites that only give you 1 sort or another. You don't complain about not able to sort while googling do you?

Yes as part of isoHunt Lite we are not providing commenting as we want to be on the safe side of the court's ruling on inducement. My hands are tied. And no one is stopping you from googling more about torrent hashes for comments associated spread over the Web.

I'm just telling you how it is dude. I have nothing invested in this site other than the 5 minutes it took me to make an account. If this site get shuts down, which it probably will, then it gets shut down. Too bad. I'll go find another torrent index.

The only thing I'm annoyed about is the fact that isohunt in its original form is easily the most usable and feature rich index on the internet, and I'm going to have to settle for something that isn't as good now. Pretty much anything is going to be better then Isohunt Lite though which is completely unusable, regardless of whether or not IH is going to try and convince you to stay.

Again, I could give two shits if it's harsh. It's the truth.

You know Ive been with iso hunt for years as have many thousands of people who have supported this site Iam sorry, but to me this is one major let down to all of those people who have supported isohunt through the years.

I guess the only other option we have is to find another place to go.

Do you people not understand what is going on here?

Yeah, Gary could ignore the court orders, but then he'd just go to jail.
That wouldn't help anyone with anything.

While this is a let down to us all know this.

If we all stop using and contributing to this site it will fall, we must continue to support it in this time of need. Sites all eventually die, but this one doesnt need to. I myself am trying to figure this new format out. Its a major pain but I refuse to torrent from a different location.

Simply put if ya want to pull out when it gets tough fine pul out when this is all over and IH is back to its glory please dont come back.

I feel ya, IH. Thank you for keeping a watchful eye on the message boards. It's nice to know that you actually care about what we have to say.

Plus, you're totally right about searches sorted by relevance and isoHunt ranking. They're way more efficient, and above all, that's the method that we are most accustomed to. A sincere thank you for going out of your way to bring us isoHunt Lite. Bravo!

To ctg87, it really isn't the fault of anyone at isoHunt that the website has had to resort to isoHunt Lite to avoid prosecution in the American legal system. Before going the way of torrentspy and mininova, IH decided to take action. I agree with you that isoHunt is the most usable and feature rich torrent index in existence, so why bash them for trying their best to keep us satisfied? For all of this time, isoHunt has been nothing but good to us. It's our turn to support them during this difficult period.

Sincerely,
RonSams87

Is it harder to look up torrents the way we were used too? Of Course. This although is no reason to give up on a site that for the better part of 3 years plus has been doing all it could to fight the system to keep this site up for both Canadian and US users alike. How can we possibly bad mouth a group of people that with all intents and purposes could have just said screw the United States we will just focus on the people in our country? No, instead they fought with our crazy one sided legal system to try to continue to offer us the best torrent search index EVER made in the last half decade. We complain because it's a search engine with Google like results.. At least we can see the thumbs up and or down if the torrent is total crap or not. That is much more then any other site will give us regardless of where you try to go. I may not have tons of money to donate to this site and to their team but I will be damned if I am going to crawl into a corner and whine because I have to go about my searching in a little more difficult manner. It reminds me of all the people who used to complain about the CAM copies of movies out in theaters... you are going to honestly complain about something you get for free? If you don't like the state of judicial choices then write letters, gather up your friends, and protest to them and stop bad mouthing the people who want to help YOU find the best solution to downloading content on the internet.. 2 years I have found down-loadable content that, thank God, has not been infected with viruses because people were kind enough to comment on what was good and bad, as well as instructions on how to load all that content.. I think it has been it's own kind of blessing. I thank you IH for going to the mattresses for us here in the US, don't give up on us yet because of a few people who think crying about things will make things better then acting to get things done. Always a loyal supporter, Pyrochaser!

That blows. So there is no way for others to find out how to get here.

I went threw an old favorited torrent page, then went to new posts. But other then that i would say browser history or link in the shout box to here could get people this side of IH.

The new isohunt lite sucks!!! Let me say that one more time because it feels feels so right.. Isohunt lite sucks!!!
Please tell me that this is just some kind of a sick, twisted April Fools' Day joke that came a couple of days late. I want my old isohunt back.

There were so many things that I loved about the old isohunt. I liked the fact that you could do a search for what you wanted and get a whole bunch of results on one page. You could usually find what you are looking for with just a few mouse clicks. Now, after about a half an hour of mousing over things, jumping from page to page, ending on Google a couple of times, and a bunch of other various assorted aggravation, you might just find what you're looking for.
The best part about the old set up was the comments on each specific torrent. I guess that those are still there and can be found but it is a complete pain in the ass. Reading these comments was the way that I decided on which torrents to download and could trust. I would always make sure to leave my own comments on any torrent that I used. That way I could inform my peers on the reliability of the torrent and help others. The comments are so hard to find now it doesn't seem like there is any use in doing that anymore.
I might as well just search for torrents on Google because I end up there anyway. Maybe I'll just have to go back to the pirate Bay. Not that I want to.
I came to isohunt from the pirate Bay in th first place because the administrators there are a bunch of pricks who don't give a damn about their users. When I started getting a bunch of page redirects and no help with it, I made the change to isohunt. The same thing happened here a couple of times, but the response was so much better here. The moderators actually wanted to help and solve the problem. It really makes a difference when people care.

I'm going to try to keep an open mind and give isohunt light a chance. However, based upon my initial experience, it does not seem likely that I will continue to use isohunt lite. Perhaps some changes can be made to make the site more user-friendly. I know that the staff here is very receptive to user suggestions. Hopefully the law will allow them to implement some changes
While I am pretty new to the isohunt forums, I have been received very warmly here and everyone has been so nice to me. Whenever I've had a problem or a comment, I have always gotten a quick response from people who genuinely wanted to help. It has been much appreciated. I am certain that I will continue to visit the forums whether or not I continue to use isohunt as search engine for torrents. I am going to try searching for a couple of torrents that I want right now and we will see what happens. I just hope I don't end up being directed to a bunch of other crap torrent sites by isohunt lite. Sometimes you do not realize how good something is until it is gone.

I guess that I am set in my ways and don't like it when things change. If something was not broken in the 1st place, why fix it? Damn the government for forcing this change upon us. They have been the bane of my existence on more than one occasion.

Well, that's my rant for the day. I guess that I should look on the bright side, at least the feds didn't shut isohunt down for good.

Mourning the death of the old isohunt with tears in my eyes,

Flatearthling
