Still having the same problem here too... here's an odd one though... a friend of mine who has the same ISP as I do but lives about 3 hours away- was having the same problem of getting the Lite version all the time but a couple of weeks ago it starting working just fine... yet my problem continues...weird. |

It depends on the IP address you have at the time. It also depends on how they determine the the location of the IP address or what resource(s) they use to figure out the location of the IP address. I randomly sampled a few different places to find the location of my own IP address. I got cities hundreds of miles away, some were even in far off states, but a lot of them were correct/close enough.
For IsoHunt, it's better safe than sorry - right? Even if you can't / don't want to use an alternate way to view the site, the lite version isn't that bad. |

"The Lite version is not that bad", I'd probably beg to differ ^-^, but I still think that's a problem that should be fixed: IH is apparently not going to implement a keyword filter to comply with the injunction, which seems fair enough since keyword filtering is a plain stupid idea that can't work in real life.
So if IH chooses to block U.S. users entirely, @gtrguy would not even be able to connect to IH at all, Lite site or not. It might be that the problem lies with the ISP rather than IH.
See http://www.stayinvisible.com/ to check your location as guessed by most web sites. Not sure if there is a single web site that reports all the information it can find about you, like your ISP ( http://en.utrace.de/ ), or your hostname ( https://www.blackvpn.com/ .) |

Hey there,
Love the site, use it often. I just went to get the latest daily show episodes and typed in "da" (without the quotes) in the search box, this usually causes a drop down list of cached previous entries to come up, so I can just down arrow to the one for daily show. But now, there is a second drop down menu underneath, I believe recently added to the site, and this takes precedence. So when I hit enter I got "knight and day". Worse, when I type in "co" down arrow to the colbert report (this is in my browser cached drop down list), underneath in the site generated list it corresponded to coldplay - I cant stand them. :-)
Anyway, could you please, please, please have a radio button option to switch the site generated drop down list on/off as it currently is making all my cached form data from previous searches unusable.
P.S. This goes for the main site too as its what I usually use, not really the lite one, but I noticed the same thing happening there too.
Cheers. |

Funny, stayinvisible.com correctly identifies my Canadian provice and city but incorrectly identifies my country as USA. |

I found in IsoLite that one often could not tell whether a download was virus-free based on Thumbs up/down. Is it possible to add a button like the thumbs up/down that allows you to remove the file or black list it in the future?
If not, Comments are a HUGE help in this regard- I left them via the "visitor" option with Facebook or whateve's' add-on. Several copies of shows and stuff were also in different languages than stated in the torrent links and again had to use a "visitors pass" to leave a note for other would-be seeders/leechers. Not very efficient since you can't trust someone that isn't an IsoHunt Ranked member or such.
I don't really like IsoLite, but it still works essentially the same without some of the bells and whistles. But hell, the bells and whistles are what make life interesting. (Why the hell else would those be considered instruments to a band?) |

I'm from the US, and use TOR to get to the real ISOhunt (horribly slowly though). Personally, I really don't like the 'lite' version, and wish there was a slightly more robust version for the US. There are several reasons why:
Search results aren't always quite right. Not sure why.
No sorting of searches.
The older alternating color list format was cleaner, and it was more intuitive.
Though the comments and such are the main concern, they are extremely useful. There are way too many fakes and trolls out there with virii and other junk, and comments help to warn others when trash is found was just too useful. Also, I miss the community!! No longer can I help someone with their computer/connection/etc, promote net neutrality, or anything. /me sad |

You need only take the torrent's hash and Google it, to get all the comments on it. Unless the US courts plan to ban Google as well they really can't stop US people from accessing the comments.

To get to the forums, go directly to: http://isohunt.com/forum/ . This is perfectly legal since it has nothing to do with torrents. You could bookmark it. |

Which wiki? Which article?
Wikipedia doesn't give anything useful on this.
BTW, gtrguy's situation is similar to mine. Correct province, incorrect city (because of allocation locations, lists me in halifax when I'm not even in halifax county), incorrect country. |

I dunno if Im the only one having this issue but every time I do a search and I click to start the download for a movie, instead of initiating the download it does a search for torrentbox. dunno why its doing this. |

Love the site but today when i went to search for something, it popped up with the lite site instead of the main. I'm in Japan currently, so am confused as to why I'm getting the lite. |

Turns out one of the GeoIP databases fell behind on synchronization (after talking to an admin). Anyone on bell that was getting redirected to lite should try now and make sure. |
