Problems with setting up recommended Preferences settings.

Greetings:

Thank you for welcoming me so nicely to this Forum earlier. It is greatly appreciated.

I downloaded utorrent (version 2.0.4) as recommended on this Forum in an earlier posting.

Next, I downloaded the uTorrents settings guide as also recommended on this Forum. However, I have encountered problems with the recommended Preferences settings for uTorrent. Here are the problems:

a) I clicked, as directed, on the Preferences “button” (looks like a ninja star) on the opening page of uTorrent (version 2.0.4). In Preferences, the “General” tab opened. However, where on this “General” window is the check button for “New Torrents start in stopped mode”. According to the directions for settings, this should be checked “yes” but I don’t even see it on this page.

b) On the “General” page, how can I check on “Alternate list background colour?” It should be checked as “yes” but I don’t even see it on this General page.

c) On the General page, I can see, under the “Windows Integration” tab, a box that states “Associate with .torrent files”. According to the directions, I should check on it and make it “yes”. However, this label (i.e., “Associate with .torrent files”) is in grey, not in black, and when I check it, nothing happens. It is simply not an active “button” so how can I check and active it?

I use Windows XP (SP2) if this is perhaps important to the "Windows Integration" issue above. Any advice anyone can give about the above issues would be greatly appreciated.

that set up guide is for a very old version and some things may have changed.all you need to do to set up utorrent is open it then at the top click options>click setup guide>click run tests>click save and apply.

you only need to click on associate if you have another client(you only need one) and the default gets changed.

and in the future don't start new topics for the same thing just click reply to topic and post in the correct section.moved.

These are the settings I use in the "General" tab running the same version as you. I have bo probs.

It's in the UI Settings check the check box by Don't start the download automatically

Tat will add them but not start them until you want to.

Like 4 years old, if any user whats there name up in stickies and wants to make a new one, it would be greatly appreciated
