Hey whats up I'm new. I've been trying to get good with IRC but I've come across some hang ups.
First off there seems to be a lot of networks with good stuff on it that don't show up in my MIRC program. How do I get them? Is there something that can update my network list? And my last problem is I am getting a shitty connection with these networks sometimes, but the problem is my port is open to mirc, so I have no idea what else could be causing this. |

If you know of the networks then its easiest if you manually add them. If you have have friends or acquaintance's already there ask them for unknown detail.
As for shitty connection... could be a number of things.. for instance your current bandwidth usage.. or overloaded server that you connect to on default... or other stuff |

Its good that you want to help if you read his post you would see that his port is open for MIRC.
Also if you are going to post dont use lazy one word answers. They are useless and dont help anybody.
Not to be harsh but its forum etiquette. |

Here's an idea: Get rid of mIRC. IMO it's crap. Some people swear by it, but I prefer X-Chat. It's multi-platform so will work on Windows, Linux, and Mac. |

We're all bias, but we have our preferences. Go to Options > Servers > Add. Enter the details manually there and you're good to go. If you've entered it properly you can do /server NETWORKNAME to get started instantly. |

I followed the guide(by Pac). but i get this am not sure why:
It goes round and round, asking "Maybe you misspelled it?"
These are the setting i followed.
Ive never used IRC before so have very little idea whats going on.

I seem to remember there being a way to add currently connected networks to the networks list, but I haven't used mIRC for about 6 years. (I use irssi)
There's always an up to date servers.ini file on the official website for mirc at:
http://www.mirc.com/servers.ini
Edit: Dang it, just realised that this post is ooooold (oops!) |
