What version of windows + service pack + µtorrent version are you using?

I am on Win7 SP1 µtorrent 3.0 alpha

I don't think that it is linked to Windows or µTorrent, I use WinXP SP3 + µTorrent Last stable release (sorry I'm not at home to give you the build number), but the generated IpFIlter.dat has only the header that is in my previous post.
The List that is downloaded by the updater has not classical carriage returns, I see some square with notepad for each carriage return...

also check your .net framework.. it needs to be 3.5

it stopped working for me also.. i checked on a couple dif pc's.

it seems to still download the .gz and convert it to the .p2p file just fine

but then when it tried to extract just the ip ranges and update the .dat file that utorrent uses it seems to fail (without giving any error messages, just an empty .dat file)

i first noticed this about a week ago. im wondering if iblocklist changed the text format.

Yeah it would seem you are right as jsut like stated above no "classical carriage returns" µtorrent needs them to have a "classical carriage return" ie. one ip range per line and the ones from iblock are not like that anymore as far as I can see.

If I had the wrong framework version the application didn't start... In my case the applications starts and run only its result is wrong.

The reason that new users can't join and post what ever they like, such as links to sites etc is a way to deal with all the spammers/malware posters, it's nothing strange or personal.

Hi everyone. Just thought I would pop in to see how things were going. Seems i havn't been getting e-mail subscriptions about replies to this thread in a while so I havn't noticed what has been going on. I don't use the tool much anymore cause I do all my dling at work through unmetered/unmonitored fibre. So I havn't ran it at home for a while.

I just ran the tool and got 0 for my ipfilter. The function that converts the gzip file isn't technically for the purpose i am using it for (its mainly for compressing asp.net pages and not files, but works since the file is a stream).

I will look into what is going on, I'm guessing iblocklist have changed the format of the file being downloaded.

I have always wanted to make the updater a little more powerful, allowing you to download more than one list and merge/clean lists, would you guys/girls be interested?

Will report back with findings/fix.

Hey everyone. Finally dusted the cobwebs off the source code for the updater.

I've solved the issue of the 0 ip's in your filter. iblocklist changed their list format slightly causing the updater to cancel out the lines with ips as it couldn't understand it. My current update is blocking 224536.

I also made some additions and code fixes. I've added the ability for those running portable utorrents to specify where it is and send the list to that location instead of the utorrent appdata folder. I also made some quick bug fixes and a speed improvement so hopefully it's a little better.

Will have an installer later on today.
