Surely I can't be the only one genuinely excited about this?

The Darkness are back!

It has been announced that the band are to get back together including frontman Justin Hawkins and original Bassist, Frankie Poullain!

I am aware that this may have been known to people a while ago but I only found out today. And it has made my day! I went to see them back in 2006 at the MEN, the tour supporting their questionable second album (for the record, I thought it was pretty damn good!) The gig is STILL one of the best gigs I've ever been to, and I've seen a lot of gigs. (Goo Goo Dolls, Keane (x2), Feeder (x2), Idlewild (x2), Newton Faulkner, Joshua Radin, 30 seconds to mars, Stereophonics, Snow Patrol (x2... second time being the homecoming gig in Belfast, biggest gig in Northern Ireland history!), Powderfinger and more that I can't remember)

The Darkness is still at top spot, Justin Hawkins appearing on a giant pair of tits then playing the guitar upside down hanging over the crowd.

It's great news they're back and I'm proper looking forward to their new album!

I always regarded them as a "comedy band", can't stand them ! More excitable is me getting to see the Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen in September Very Happy

i love the darkness yes they are taking the piss and it is comedy but its done well, they have some good songs. the lyrics to givin up are awesome, funny as hell they describe a junkie perfectly get your hands of my woman motherfucker is class too, i like some of their more soppy stuff too like love is only a feeling and diner lady arms. im glad their getting back together and looking forward to hearing some new stuff.
