- You can use boolean operators (-, |, OR), wildcards (*, ?), and phrase search (") in your query
- For BitTorrent: Paste in a 40 characters info_hash, to search for that particular torrent and get all trackers for it

Hi,
I am using utorrent and have a partially downloaded torrent. I'm changing computers and got quite a bit of time invested in downloading 4 of 9 GB of this file and don't want to start over. How can I move the partially downloaded file and torrent file to another installation and continue the download?
Thanks. |

Yep. Just put the files in the µTorrent's download folder (where they were before) and then open the torrent file again (hope you still have it or remember where to download it).
File<Add Torrent...And follow the procedure for adding a new torrent.
It'll verify your partial download, run up to the % you got to and then continue.
I've done it several times. Shouldn't be a problem. |

Back what you have to disc, make sure that this is readable,
NovaBACKUP
or another back up program will do. Aslo back up
uTorrents
settings and torrents, found at
C:\Documents and Settings\YOU\Application Data\uTorrent
.
Back the settings to zip, now you can create the folder you previously had in the same disc on the same partition, unzip your uTorrent's setting back to
Docs & Settings
then start up uTorrent and youle find that all is as was before.
Some Back up program will give you the option to back up the full path , so you could if you are using the same configeration, just back-up the lott,
uTorrent and the download
, upon restore just install uTorrent again then restore and youle find it exactly as it was before.
You can allways just pop all of it to zip and set the full path to be copied if you can save to another partition, but you are sending this another Pc right? So you will need to backup insome way or another, and zip seems to be read & burnt to/from disc better than any other medium or archiver. |
