or i have found this all in one pc which kinda seems ok as i wont then have to buy a monitor keyboard etc and it looks all neat and tidy as going to turn one of the bedrooms into a computer room/spare bedroom with a sofa bed but thats why i was thinking gaming pc as i could then put a flat screen on the wall to sit on the sofa with.... hmmmmmm or tidy little pc room with touch screen computer....... as my mate has it and says he loves it???? whats your thoughts

List everything you want the PC to do then match PC specifications to your list.
Or ....... get a nice shiny black one regardless of the specifications.

div Smile i did and the gaming pc is better inside yet the touch screen is quite capable too but would look tidy? i'm thinking more on the side of the gaming pc as it would run faster too etc plus a big flatscreen on the wall would be kinda cool !

Seems like you've already decided ! A touch screen PC would drive me mad, I have a touch screen 'phone and I am endlessly cleaning the thumb prints off the screen.

while not always, the more you are willing to pay the better the pc.you're best bet would obviously be to build what you want.i should have since i just bought one and am already seeing things that would make it work more efficiently.for example just getting a more efficient PSU brought all my temps down between 5-8 degrees C.next time i'll just decide what i want, get the parts and build it.

figure out what games you want to play on the pc and check into what specs are needed.what kind of resolution you want to display,if you get a big flat screen for the wall you'll want one with an hdmi out so you run 1080p.if there are any games coming or are out already that interest you and will the card, cpu and psu handle them.

there are tons of people that will help you out here.i'm pretty clueless but muddle my way though to the point where i'm officially a danger to my pc. Laughing so if you don't necessarily need to get it right away my advice is just to spend some time with google and ask some questions.

easy, AMD.
the acer is a complete unit, you cant even do a poor mans upgrade (increase the ram) in the future. Also not all software is touch compatible.
the killer for me would be the price, £170 is a good deposit for that flatscreen

too true mr nephilim... but if i was to build a pc i would prob burn my house down Smile lol....... that made up one froma shop seems quite capable and i dont really have the cash to spend out loads at the moment on a computer as just brought a house and my girlfriend will prob put her pants on lock down for buying gadgets instead of on the house!! lol... but i was justifying it on the fact that my laptop is 4 years old and is getting on my tits with being slow and dated so thought an upgrade and the choice of her getting the tv when she wanted and me going to the boys toys room would suffice Smile

That first link claims to be a "gaming PC" yet has a video card that was bottem end 5 years ago(my mistake, doesnt even include a video card, lol), im going to say avoid; if you want a gaming PC build it.

I fully agree with cbilljones, very average video card, that wouldn't be capable of playing todays games,i build my own,try it,its not hard, research what you would like and get your own parts.Assembling a computer is not as daunting as it sounds.BE WARY,some of these vendors use cheap parts, but charge premium prices for them that you pay for.

dupe post fixed Wink

I'd say avoid touch screen computers if you actually want to do anything with them, that looks like a bit of a gimmik to me, how much are you actually going to use a touch screen? particularily at 15kg... its not mobile enough to warrant that sort of feature.

also what they ^^ said, that's not a gaming PC, judging by the links you posted i'd guess your looking at a sub 400 pound range?

I purchased a Sony VAIO L series touchscreen about a month ago and HATED it. I used it for three days and sold it again. It is exactly as Indie said, a big gimmick. And also as gsxr_rider said, they are impossible to change any of the hardware on them. Sure the screen tilts down to be a big tablet but why the hell would you want to do that??

Yeah as kinda stated in the above posts I would rethink your options:

  1. That is not a gaming PC, Not even close. Build a better one, It's not very hard at all.
  2. Touch screen... How much art/cadd/drawing are you going to be doing? That's about all I see them really useful for.

if you're curious this a basic three part series from newegg on building a pc to give you an idea of what's involved.
