When ripping a DVD to .avi many result in significant delays in audio, lips move but no sound and then comes the sound. Any recommendations on which program to use and how to configure?

VLC can be used to shift audio stream.
as a caveat i sometimes get avis that start up bad, and if you stop it all and start it up fresh again the stream is in "synch"
LiefEriccson it would be kinda handy if you told ppl what you are using
I was using Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate, sometimes the audio tracked but most times the audio was way out of sync. I would hope it would be a configuration problem but I'm not sure.

Just so you are aware its best you dont do anything strenuous when converting. Web browsing is fine but anything more and it will probably affect your rip.
