Music software

Excuse me if I'm in the wrong place but if anyone has an idea of what I'm after and can direct me to any Freeware apps I would be much appreciative.

My son is starting rap tracks and is not computer savvy but has imo something to offer. I'd like any direction to help him on the music side of it.
Apps to help him embed sound effects and music is basically what I'm after
You can hear him on "cashduprecordz" in FB..pls dont construe this as being an ad. I only mention it so if anyone has any ideas I can pass on you'll will know where this young fella is at.

I know this is a few days late, but if you download Abelton Live Lite6 I can give you my CD-Key, I never use it, as it is a production software and I only mix. However, with the cd-key it will update to lite7 or whatever the newest version is.

Orka,

If they're new to the production scene i recommend they use Fruity Loops or Reason. You can find both of them on here if you search for them, and tutorial videos too.

Cheers Schlomo72, I'll try not be so gullible next time. Oops there I go again. No reply needed but I appreciate you stepping in to help with my naivete, it shows a kindness in your character. The Hippy in me still gets a little confused with the Anarchism of my Political leanings.
I hope I haven't opened a door here, unless we would like to open a thread on Anarchism and how it relates to the Hippy movement and visa-versa?
