i am looking to download a cd of songs from the 1940's era for an old peoples home round the corner from me, so the residents can have a sing along.
they currently have a man goes in and charges them £55 to do it. as we all know money is scarce at the moment and the home is struggling to find the cash, so i have volunteered to get them a disc.
now for the difficult part.(i think).
the home is for people with alzheimers,so there memories aren't what they used to be, therefore i dont want the whole song. just the first verse and a chorus, or maybe even just the chorus.
so the question is, how do i do it.?
is there a program i can d/l to do it, or is there something i already have i can use.?
LADS AND LASSES. when you give your answers, remember i'm not greatly technical, so use idiots terms for me please. thanks.
sorry if this is a bit long winded, i just thought more people would help if they knew it was for a good cause. |

So you just need the first verse and the chorus from each song ? Dez is probably the person to ask but, a quick google search of audio editors produced this: http://free-audio-editor.com/ |

Or this: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Forgot I had it, Xilisoft Audio Converter Pro will do what you're after, you can manually select start and stop points from a CD or downloaded music file, it will burn them to disc aswell. There's probably more software that does exactly the same thing, maybe ask tazz ? |

bye bye blackbird
daddy wouldn't buy me a bow wow
diamonds are a girls best friend
