If you have a static IP address, its probally something you did, if you have a NON static IP, its probally something someone from your ISP's IP range did. Pissing off the ircops is usually why they get banned.
Either way, you can still use the forums here. |

Respectfully, I don't think banning everyone who "pisses off" an op is a good solution for #isoHunt - particularly given that at least one of the ops will kick/ban pretty whimsically and overreact with little or no provocation.
Unless the goal here is to keep only the ops happy (exclusively), maybe a better solution would be to start following some guidelines - like compulsory warnings, etc. or a standard contact/process for repealing bans. Everyone (with a brain) realizes that using a free, public system is "a priveledge". I don't see it as being anything more than the product of adolecent power-tripping to dwell on that point and to not try to cultivate a system that users will actually want to use.
** Feel free to talk as much shit as you want, ross, it's not going to help your situation at all. I've been with isohunt for 2 years now, and the likelyhood of you finding yourself in a position where you will be welcome back again is unlikely. **
If you want to have a place where you and 10 or 12 of your IRC buddies can play op-Gods together, there's no need to go to the expense or trouble of running your own IRC service. But if the goal is to actually present a chatting environment for isoHunt users, a few simple guidelines might be useful for keeping everything running smoothly.
** we have no problems with folk that are respectful, intelligent, on-topic, and capable of holding conversation, every +v and higher in that channel has EARNED that privilege **

Yeah... quite frankly, I don't think that dial-up belongs on a Peer-to-Peer-centric network. |
