how do you open a file

hello, i would like to know how to extract the contents of a torrent fil ,i'm new to all of this ,thanks a million

Depends on the file.

If you have downloaded a movie in rar format then it is probably a fake file and will not open anyway, can you provide a link to the summary page so one of us can check the torrent.

If it's a different file (ie an iso or game) then you can use Winrar or 7zip which can be found easily by using Gooble.

lets make sure we on the same page.
when you click on the download torrent link you get a .torrent file
that file has to go into a client program like Utorrent, then the actual file downloads. have you done this ?

fake torrents exist to scam you. passworded files are 99% fakes
there is no reason for anything offered publicly to need a password, unless it is something that shouldnt be public
