I've never bought a premix, unless you consider MD 20/20 to be a wine+booze premix. The last few years, I've stuck with mostly hard liquor, and most often drank it straight. I'm currently working on finding the best tasting Scotch whisky that I can afford, and I don't even put ice cubes in it. Straight-up, two to three fingers up the glass, goes down quite smooth, and drowns your brain cells pretty quickly. J&B Scotch tastes okay, and goes for about $25 for 750mL. Some more expensive brands are upwards of $500, of course, but it's easy to get by on middle shelf sauce. But pre-mix crap is a waste of money, IMO, especially if they're cutting it with too much mix. Here the liquor store has pre-mix margarita's, too, which go for ~$25, and is 6% ABV. I won't touch it. I'll buy the margarita mixer (n/a) to blend with tequila, and my mixes go about 15-20%, if not more, and that's mostly because I like the taste of the tequila over the sourness of the mix. And besides, once pissed up enough, shots of tequila go down easy, can't do that with premix. Wink

...but the brewing and distilling does stop the wallet from getting thin Wink
growing tobacco is hard, growing eed is risky, home brew in limited quantities, totally legal, still made of house wares hard to prove when disassembled. good home brew booze in legit bottles near impossible to tell apart, from commercial spirits

something something lol

i never buy alcopops, not since i was 14, vodka and coke, red wine and strong lager for me thanks. as said by pac they try to force us into it by raising the prices, that wont stop someone who wants to drink...drink it will just make us harder off or get it by other means mostly illegal. i made a huge vat of red wine the other week, was very nice and saved a good bit. its the piss heads and ferile little runts and their parents we have to thank for us all having our arses slapped, and no its not health as the government make billions revenue on fag and booze taxes and couldnt do without it

Here in Canada for beer the highest is 10% and for liquor I think it's 40%.
And I think the pre mixed drinks you can get at the booze can are for ladies.

its just going up and up and up and up. have we noticed a difference? other than our pocket? if inflating the price is supposed to combat A&E on a friday night and thousands and thousands of liver cases and other alcohol related illnesses and deaths, raise it properly! raise it so the young, lesser of or lesser educated and people from poorer backgrounds cant afford it. they are statistically the biggest users and abusers. the pathetic increases are just effecting everyone, not the people that are causing this problem! Im sick of it.

Just make weed legal. My liver is just peachy. Also I've never been in A&E and none of my weed smoking buddies have either unless it was alcohol related.

And while I'm on the subject might i also point out that drunken anti-social behavior at 4:00 in the morning would be on the decline. Everyone would be in a weed coma by 12:30 =]

I find it amusing every time they raise the price of premixers and lower the alcohol content, because I always see more drunk teenages running around with a bottle of something rather then a four or six pack of something. As far as im concerned we should thank the government for contributing to the binge drinking problem :S
