Just bought a new Toshiba 3d ready tv and am looking to ask Santa for a 3d player for Christmas.

The only thing it must 'do' is recognise a ntfs formatted HD.

LG have a nice player, http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-BD670-Smart-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B004ZHYY4W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323630732&sr=8-1

and this Samsung is ok too http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/10044674/art/samsung/bd-d6500-3d-blu-ray-playe.html?srcid=4018&Partenaire=kelkoo_uk&CodePromo=oui

I suppose I am looking at around £150.

Anyone with any other suggestions.

Cheers Very Happy

Sony or Panasonic man myself Very Happy

check out here...
http://www.mrmdvd.com/catalog/

Where I bought mine, no problems, maybe more expensive but you get multiregion players which is what you need for those elusive US discs that may better the UK one.

all my recent pc's have LG bluray players,i have no complaints with them.

because i'm hdmi'd to the tv i don't waste my money on stand alone players anymore, and my pc's will play any game so i don't need a game console either.

have an upconverting dvd player sitting unused in the other room from when i was using the vga input but rarely used it since it wasn't much better than the regular dvd player in the pc at the time.

I still reckon it's the audio on a blu ray that makes all the difference, get a decent AV Receiver and sit wide eyed in awe as bombs explode all around you ............... if there aren't any explosions in the film you are watching be very afraid.

Tesco have a selection in the £150 price bracket. I was looking at an LG at the weekend. The one ya've highlighted from Amazon is couple upgrades from my BD550, and is about £12 quid cheaper than the one I saw in Tesco. Shame I can't afford the 3D TV as well lol Cool Crying or Very sad

For that you get Wifi enabled so streaming straight from the upstairs PC, and it recognises ntfs files. Very Happy

robmead, I was thinking of getting one of those sound bars that sit in front of the tv and make fake surround. Mrs torcheeee wouldn't appreciate miles of cabling around the walls for a cinema surround set up.... Shocked

No need for miles of cables torcheeeeeeeeeeee, my rear and side speakers are wireless but I use "flat cable" from Richer Sounds which is hardly noticable, I is fully modernised ! I don't think a sound bar is worth the money, you'd be better off with just 2.1 stereo methinks.

edit: Currys/PC World currently have all their blu ray players on sale so try looking there, if they're anything like my local store they will let you haggle with the price too.

I personally have a sound bar a vizio one with wireless sub and im rlly impressed with the sound quality , and it has optical input so i can play dolby digital and other formats, deep bass. 150 dlls.

Oh but i have to warn you, if youre getting a sound bar check if its DTS capable otherwise youre gonna be able to only listen to dolby and other formats, there are a few on the market.
