Newbie needing advice

Hi,
New to this and have just installed utorrent and successfully downloaded a couple of files but other attempts have been unsuccessfull, the status bar just says downloading 0% (and has done for some time) despite there being several seeds according to the search? I've tried right clicking and selecting force start which didn't seem to help. Any advice greatly appreciated.

it may be that people are limiting there upload. can you give a link so we can check the file, if it comes down for us ok the problem will be your end. then we can have a look at that, also make sure you have utorrent set up correctly there is a sticky on it

but otherwise it might just be the things your downloading are not being shared due to the sharers not being on!! but like said let us know what your trying to download?!?!?

Forum moderator won't let me post link as I haven't been registered long enough and haven't enough legitamate posts but the file I'm after is cars 2 movie

I carried out search for dpg under games category then clicked seeders column header to sort results by max seeders first, file I'm after is second one down

has nothing to do with with the mods here,it's an anti-spam thing.all you need to do is copy/paste a link to the files summary since you are new you will need to remove the http:// from the link and it will post.

or you could just copy/paste the files infohash from the summary page and we can put it into tthe search and find the file here and elsewhere.

You don't really have to post it as a link either...simply pasting it as text will work too.

Managed to download it now cheers, guessing it must have just been an availabilty thing? I just thought with 20+ seeders at least some of them would have been available, or is that not how it works? Anyway, I'm sorted now, thanks for advice/links.

Spam filter wouldn't let me type any file extension letters in my message, it's just for the first day though so should be ok now.

The 20+ seeders may all have been seeding at 2kbps each ........... anyway, glad you have it sorted.
