How do I download a torrent to a cd so that I can use it on ALL cd players.?
For example, I put a torrent on to a cd that I can listen to on my computer. several cd/dvd players but not the cd player in my vehicle.
I know it can be done, as I have done it, but forget how

I am going to assume the torrent you want to download is music, an album or MP3 files, if your using windows you can just add the file/folder to Windows Media Player then just burn the tracks of your choice, if using a different Media Burner, add the tracks of your choice from the location you downloaded the file to.

Almost all home based cd players can play .mp3's (which is going to be the format that is most likely found on the internet)... Most car cd players cannot... they can only play .wav files. (Google mp3 to wave converter). The .wav format is what store bought cds are in. Please note that .wav files are considerable bigger by design than a .mp3. (Roughly 10 times bigger). So you will only be able to get around 20 .wav files onto a CD. Every CD player out there can play a .wav file.

i know it might be stupid, but i think he wants to download music from a torrent directly onto a CD [eg. the torrent's save folder IS the CD] instead of downloading straight to his PC Hard Drive. strange tho, he said he's done it before, but i never heard of anyone do that.

Yes... essentially WMP is converting the .mp3 file to a .wav. There are dozens of programs out there that allow you to do this. But instead of getting 200+ songs on a CD... you will only get around 20 or so.

.wma stands for Windows Media Audio. That format will not play in all CD players.... such as most car players.

I also have a $300 Sony cd/dvd player sitting in my garage that will not play Divx or mp3s. But a $30 dollar Walmart no-name plays them just fine... Sony owns alot of the multimedia companies... thus they don't allow these formats because the are primarily used for piracy. Thats why I never buy Sony anymore.

Cool, I know now, learn something new every day, even at Christmas lol, I have never looked into it as I just put a CD in and with a few clicks a CD pops out, job done, lol.

Here pacificdon this thread has a list of free software, I'm sure you find something of interest on it> http://ca.isohunt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=347661

Well. back to the drawing board.
I converted my mp3 file to a wave sound file. That cd will only play on my computer using window media player.
All my other players show that I have a bad disc.
This all started when I downloaded Michael Buble's xmas album onto my computer. When I used my Roxio software to download it to a cd, the cd played on my computer (window Media Player) as well as a highend cd player and a very good dvd player. But it wouldn't play on a friends cd player or on the cd player in my vehicle.
Obviously I need to find a "universal" format.
Any more idea's ?

As was kinda indicated above by Whitestar... Make sure you are making an Audio CD... and not a Data CD.

.wav is NOT what store bought cd's are, you need to make an audio cd, use windows media player to burn them. .wav files are like flac, rather flac is compressed .wav. They are both both lossless, but that doesnt mean they are the same format as the original. Most audio cds use the CDA format.
