It's totally crazy that the major candidates for US President in 2008 are off and running for election.

It's totally crazy , but they are.

All this 20 months before the vote!

But reality is reality and a fact a fact.

Image
TOP THREE DEMOCRATIC CONTENDERS IN PRIMARIES

The stakes are big. High Stakes, 4sure.
& No telling who's gonna win the jackpot and get the big payoff.
But a dozen or so candidates have anted-up and a few are all-in.

But it did start to get funny when whispers began to circulate, with several well-connected Democrats whispering in each other's ear:

"Don't Tell Your Momma, But I'm for Obama!"

Note: If you're not too familiar with English, this would Not be a good sentence to practice, unless, of course, you're a black, hip-hop, gang banger, from the hood.

If you're not too familiar with USA politics, 'Your Momma,' refers to Hillary Clinton.

This whispering campaign was the first hint that important Democratic leaders might defect and transfer their support from U.S Senator Hillary Clinton to U.S Senator Barack Obama.

Thus, the fun had just begun. The show was on the road. The participants in America's Greatest Reality TV Show were on the air. (and online)

But this week: Events took an ugly turn!

An Obama supporter said Hillary was too abrasive, too controlling and manipulative and was carrying 'too much baggage,' to have any hope of winning the elections.

Note: The 'baggage,' refers to her husband and him having oral sex at the White House and then having Republicans impreach him for it! Plus, rumors that maybe's he's been doing more sleeping around.

As anyone can guess, this does make good TV and In Fact, these are the initial ideas and comments at the start of the campaign, highlighted by the fact, I suppose, that Hillary made a joke -- yes, a joke, -- about her husband's 'mis-behavior,' during a campaign speech shown on TV.

"See," she later said, "I'm not so strait-laced after all," but people wondered if it was appropriate to make jokes about your husband having oral sex in the White House.

But now the accusations are back to the initial claims that she's not funny at all, that's she's hard to get along with.

SOMEDAY SOME OF US ARE HOPING SOMETHING WILL BE SAID ABOUT NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL ISSUE -- OR, EVEN BETTER, THAT ALL THESE 10 OR A DOZEN CANDIDATES NOW ON STAGE COULD GET BACK TO WORK AND DO THEIR REGULAR JOBS OF BEING SENATORS AND GOVERNORS, ETC.

But reality is reality. The USA Campaign for President has begun, 20 months before the election.

Image

Will the Clinton political machine be able to plow on?

Image

Will the rising tide of support for Obama be enough to turn the tide?

Image

Will Hillary be able to let her charming side come out?

Image

Is Obama the new Superman?

Image

And...as mentioned, this week: Events took an ugly turn! and now you have to wonder, in this photo, above, taken this week i that if looks could kill, who's gonna , OMG. . who is going to be the winner? [/img]

If you put this in debates make it more debatable as is sounds like a news letter or editorial.

Latest USA election news, printed today in the Washington Post:

Clinton Fights to Keep Impeachment Story of her husband Taboo
After Recent Row (spat), All Candidatess Know to Expect Swift Reprisal
for Any Mention of the 1999 Impeachment and Sex Scandal of her husband,
former President Bill Clinton

The news article, printed in a major newspaper and magazine this week states: " Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) has a new commandment for the 2008 presidential field: Thou shalt not mention anything related to the impeachment of her husband."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/02/24/AR2007022401166.html

That's probably a good idea. I myself felt awkward commenting on this first 'issue,' raised in the campaign, but a fact is a fact although incredible to now believe that the History of the USA is forever stained by the Republican impeachment of Bill Clinton because he lied about personal and private sexual activity.

What a thing to now have as a permanent part of a nation's history. And how foolish to impeach and try to kick out a President, IMHO, for personal and private consensual 'intimate behavior,' between two adults.

Oh well....There are no "sacred cows," in USA America, that's for sure; no secrets either. If Americans have any dirty laundry we tend to put it on TV. (a sarcastic joke)

Anyhow, candidate Clinton today now vows never to talk about her husbands 'mis-behavior,' again.

The election bandwagon rolls on!

Only 20 months to go. Some issues have come up besides sex - or more precisely , Hillary Clinton afraid of being embarrassed by the past behavior of her husband, Bill, when he was in the White House.

Issues of having the USA' s first woman president? The possibility of having the USA first black president? The idea of having the first Mormon president? The possible election of a President with 3-ex-wives? Etc.

There's been some talk about not support the USA and/or Israeli attack against Iran. Hot topics. A lot of folks think the madmen in political power are going to do this, any day now.

Some talk about the thousands of foreign illegals who flood into the country everyday from the southern border with Mexico. Hot topic.

Some talk about maybe getting some National Health care. Probably less chance than a snowball in hell.

It sure would be nicer if we had a parliamentary form of government, I think.

I think that's how every other democracy in the world does it, but I'm not sure.

The USA winner-take-all democracy makes the power of Big Bucks and Big Corporations even strong.

Of course, some may disagree. Or might have other issues to spell out.

Seven (7) State governors have declared their support for one candidate or the other. These are significant endorsements from pro-politicians in power, bringing along a networks of fundraisers and activists.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has the support of three governors and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., the backing of two.

Image

Which way the average American family will cast their vote, though, is a long way away from being decided

Despite the possibly deliberate distractions of talking about elections so far away -- filling our TV news with it -- the vast majority of people realize there are hot issues here and now that need to be dealt with first.

Get your priorities straight. Blowjobs, gender & skin colour matters f-all.

Iran's a pipedream at present. Illegal immigrants will be a problem until you start encouraging workers to organise & enforce labour laws. Public healthcare can't be done in the US, as corporates would lose insane sums of money & like it or not: they run your government & media.

Your political system isn't gonna change either, as the current system lends itself too well to mercantilism. Corrupt w@nkers all.

The neoCons probably won't win again, and as long as that's the case, I don't really give a toss. It's just a choice between narcisistic, megalomanic, authoritarian, extremist rightwingers. You're basically voting for packaging, not content.

Out of all that garbage I had to just sift through, your only point is that we should have a parliamentary form of government? Pull your head out please.

The USA election race sure turned interesting this week with a declaration by the Mayor of New York, Bloomberg, that -- presto! - - he is no longer a Republican and the implication that he may run for President as an Independent.

Since Bloomsberg's suppose to have a net worth of $4 Billion dollars this became big news quickly. He spent $85 million dollars to get elected Mayor of New York so people are wondering if he can now buy the Presidency?

Image

Most of the 'political pundits,' still think there is no way in USA politics that a third party has such a chance of winning an election like this but some quick calculations seemed to conclude that with that much personal wealth he might be able to win in enough place -- not many really needed -- but that he could win in enough place so that no other candidate get enough votes to win outright.

Then, in our rigid and super-controled two-party system, it would be up to some small group in our Congress to decide (nobody knows how this all works, really and, as previously mentioned, since we're not a fair parlimentary system like the rest of the world, it's all screwed up from beginning to end anyhow).

Image
The conclusion appears to be that this Billionaire's candidacy would hurt Democrats and result in another Republican President getting elected. Specifically, that he would hurt Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama.

This has dramatically annoyed Democratics. Woman. & some black leaders: all in one quick stroke.[/b]

Then this other third-party never can be elected fool, Ralph Nader, announced that he might run (again) as an Independent.

Then, suddenly there all these Talking Heads on TV saying how nice it would be to have an Independent as President, someone who doesn't have to take bucks from lobbyist and knows how to be a good CEO.

All this and the election is still almost a year and a half away!

I understand in England candidates can only run for office and advertise for just a five week period before the vote. That would be nice.

One of our Republican candidates is a Mormon and he's been given a hard time and asked to explain his religion a lot, since religious wars have been stirred up it seems that what use to be a private thing is now grist for public debate.

Considering this it didn't take more than a day or two for some Talking TV head to mention that Bloomberg was Jewish.

One of our Southern cousins said that it appears the leading candidates, at least in the minds of our right-wing media, were: A Mormon, A Jew, a Black, and a Woman.

He said he'd rather have a cigar. But recently, prior to all this, a TV actor (former - lazy- Southern Senator), while not saying he want's to be President has set up an "exploratory committee," which officially allows him to raise funds.

Image

So now it looks like The South will throw it's weight behind this guy, Thompson, who has yet to declare he's officially running; and it looks like the 'activist wing' of the Democratic Party is still not sold on 'Pander Bear,' Hillary and they want Al Gore, who's also not an official candidate.

People are beginning to make up speculative pairings for President-Vice President tickets, like: Bloomberg-Liebermann, Hagel-Bloomberg, Hillary-Obama, Obama-Hillary, Ralph Nader and the Tooth Fairy, Edwards-Obama, Obama-Edwards, Hillary-Richardson, Romney-Hunter, Gingrich-Giuliani, Giuliani-McCain, and a host of other pairings, not to even mention"

A Republican Senator and surgeon,ex-Navy officer, anti-war, with his head on his shoulders: Ron Paul. (who the right wing insists on portraying like an idiot yet he obviously is not).

Dennis Kucinich, who introduced a bill to impeach Cheney, that, amazingly, is slowly step by slow step getting some support. And with Cheney's latest claims of being exempt from normal 'fair disclosure,' requirements concerning his actions, impeaching him is becoming more of a talked up possibility, at least.

Mike Gravel, from frozen wild Alaska who's antiwar and quite shocking in his statements about "the warmongering military-industrial-cultural complex."

Of course there is the distinct possibility that the entire USA Media World will have a complete Meltdown in two days when Paris Hilton is released from jail. People seriously don't know if it can be handled without media riots, helicopter crashes, random shootings or kidnapping of her dog, Tinkerbell (which has been threatened).

The unfortunately truth is that if Hillary Clinton ran on a ticket with Paris Hilton she'd probably win: Hilton & Hillary 08. It would be a 'slam dunk.'

Seriously. The USA is, obviously, quite a land of equal opportunity
And Hillary now has been maintaining 'double-digit' leads in the polls (now, a year and half before the elections) it would seem that who ever pairs up with her is the most critical decision for the Democrats to make.

Giuliani {The Mayor of 9/11} still leads the Republicans but it's figured that when more and more people find out why the NYPD and NYFD -- the rescue workers of 9/11 -- find out why they HATE him, that his lead will not hold; plus he's been married three times; his second wife goes around giving interviews about what a bastard he is, his kids won't speak to him, etc.

Image

The TV actor (former Senator), Fred Thompson might actually have the best chance. Romney's Mormon religion worries all those Christian conservative. Martinet McCain seems expreme.

Fred Thompson, BTW, plays the DA on "Law & Order." They say, with a script, he's got it made.

once again i find myself in just about complete agreement with you disconnected... democrat, republican, liberal, conservative mean about fuckall these days... both sides will raise taxes as they see fit, and both sides are just as corrupt... you will never see your average good hearted joe blow that wants to make a change end up in office... why? well because joe blow doesnt get campaign contributions, therefore joe blow doesnt get advertising and etc... anyways, as i was saying, its a shitty situation and there is no end to it in site... government has gotten entirely too big, and the american people are so far away from what happens in it, it is ridiculous... it is about as indirect as a democracy can get... my own country disgusts me... as for the candidates? well, i believe i may boycott this election... there is really no reason for me to go out and vote, all the candidate hopefuls are worthless...

Maybe you can tell us why you think he should be banned or warned?

He is, as mentioned above, entitled to his opinion as much as the next person and he certainly hasn't broken any of the rules.

CitizenCrayon isn't an extremist. His personal politics aren't far removed from the mainstream of his society. His lack of communication skills - at most - makes him extremely unfortunate.

There are extremists here though. Mochtroid X and myself, to name two. And while I can't speak for others, I really don't care how you feel about me.
