Not sure if this is the correct spot for this question, but here i go:
moved to correct place - mod
On several DL's the audio seems to have a "churping" noise over the audio of the DL. Any ideas as to what is causing this?? |

Do you breed budgies ?
Maybe it's the audio codec doing something it shouldn't ...... does it happen with the same audio codec or with different codecs ? |

It seems to be on all Movie downloads. It is there when I play them on the computer also when I burn to a disc.
Not sure what you mean by audio codec. |

........... it's not the Ace Ventura films by any chance ??
Sorry !! I don't know of anything that would make films "cheep" on the PC and when burned to disc ........ |

it's what allows encoding and playback of files.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec
we need to know what you are downloading, what codec package you have installed, what player you are playing them in on the pc and what you are burning and playing the dvd's with and on. since it is nearly always on your end.
first give a link to a summary page of a recent download, your codec package and player or if you are using VLC which has and uses it's own.someone will check it to see if they can find comments complaining about the same or if they can produce similar results. |

There were two movies I downloaded, first I will say is I am using a Mac, if that makes a differance, and second I hope I do not seem to dum here but some questions I am not sure what you are asking, but here we go.
I down loaded "Indiana Jones The and the Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull. First one on the list after a search.
Where do I find what codec package I have?
I tryed playing on Quicktime, Realplayer and the DVD player that came on the Mac.
Burning with toast.
Tryed playing the DVD on a Hatachie, nd a Panaconic DVD Player and also tried playing on the Mac after burning.
I will copy the link to the summery page in follow up post. Most of my DL have been done without signing in but I will send the link to the summery page anyway.
As i said this has been happening to all my down loads lately. I recently upgraded to Mac OS lion, Does that have anything to do with it? |

with all those positive comments and plus votes here and elsewhere the problem is on your end, nothing wrong with the file.something wrong with your audio settings, burner whatever.
sorry and no offense intended but i wouldn't waste my money on a mac,so can't help much with them, not that they are bad or anything just you get the same parts for twice the price and then need to search for things to work with them that are readily available for pc.
we have some very knowledgeable mac users here and some should come along and maybe be able to help you out.qucktime and real player are crap,i don't think it will help with the audio unless you are trying to check the burned dvd on the pc thus using the same sound as when just playing the file but you could get VLC for mac.

[EDIT]
i did a quick download since there was a comment about it maybe being an r5 and they sometimes have poor audio since it's sometimes taken from a cam.the video is poor compared to what i'm used to (i don't get avi) but the audio is fine.and yeah i've suggested users get perian codec myself like the following member suggests,i believe it works in quicktime. |

Perian seems to have done it. What must have happened is when I did the clean install of Lion it erased perian. I know I did have it before. Soo it seems to be working OK. Thanks for the help everyone. Also "iamnephilim" no offence taken as long you are not offended when I say, you are wrong, I would never have another PC. |
