When I convert and burn an avi file to play on my dvd player I am unable to fast forward the movie. I use Xilisoft. Am I doing something wrong?

I think it's a Xilisoft glitch as I get the some problem with some of mine, if it's a legit copy of DVD Creator Xilisoft are good at giving refunds - and the software keeps working Wink

I didn't pay for it Wink

When I use convertxtodvd I don't get any audio. Nothing seems to be working right for me. Probably has something to do with the fact I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Try convertxtodvd again and also install
CCCP http://www.cccp-project.net/
If you have any other codec packs installed remove it first or they will conflict..

I had K-Lite Codec Pack which seems to work with everything except Xvids. So I uninstalled that and installed CCCP. I'll go back to convertX and see if that works now.

CCCP with ConvertXtoDVD seems to be the preferred combination of isoHunt, plus you get Media Player Classic included with the CCCP download which will play virtually anything.

It may not necessarily be a codec issue with convert X. depending on your dvd player/tv audio settings. I always tick that box for better compatibility, and sometimes you have to take it off automatic and select the audio format that your player will work with.
