Hey guys so i was wondering because i like to play poker online alot and download at the same time however when doing both my poker client likes losing connection because i'm using to much of my bandwith at one time so i'm wondering is the only way to set it in the torrents bandwith allocation part or is there another way i can make sure my poker client is running with more bandwith then my torrents.

As usual thanks for any replies really do appreciate it.

Oh and poker client runs fine when not torrenting

Limiting uTorrent as you are doing is probably the easiest. There are some third party applications out there like netlimiter that allows you to allocate bandwidth for each application or connection.

Most likely... it is your Upload bandwidth that is being sucked dry by Utorrent... not allowing the proper response time back to your poker sites. Try throttling back the upload bandwidth when you want to play poker.

btw... rather than having to go into your preferences each time to make these changes... Just "right click" on the U(pload) or D(ownload) boxes at the bottom of your uTorrent window... and depending on which one you select.... you can quickly adjust your bandwidth settings.

Easy. In uTorrent, at bottom where the upload and download speeds at displayed, right click on the download speed. It will show you a list of speeds and you can select something slower than what you're at.

That should do it.

your router may include bandwidth management or QualityOfService settings as well so you can prioritize certain traffic, and protocol types

utorrent should always be set up to use 75% of your bandwidth if you want normal web surfing

options/preferences/bandwidth and type in what ever you want

hehehe classic. I remember people doing that in chatrooms back in the day "I'm a noob please love me"

As for the post I just wanted to add that uploading is as, if not more, important than downloading so while you can limit the uploads and downloads while playing poker, make sure you let the uploads on 100% when you're not playing poker.
I tend to pause downloads after a certain amount of downloading (fair usage policies and such) but I leave the upload constantly on Smile
