How does everyone has their torrents setup?

Hey everyone,

I know I don't want the torrents to come to an, and I'm sure everyone feels the same way? How does everyone have their torrents setup, so this won't happen? Is anyone using free proxies? Or free VPNs? Or how to stop them? If someone isn't comfortable talking about it in public then is it allowed if someone sends me a PM on here?

an what? That one missing word seems to be the whole focus of your post.

I'm gonna guess that the missing word is "end" and that you are refering to recent copyright and internet laws passed in America and the U.K. and being voted on in places like Canada.

As for proxies, VPNs, and such, I use Tor , in my opinion its the best privacy software available, and its free.

"them" must be copyright agencies?

You can download Peer Block and run it whilst downloading in uTorrent, keep it up to date and most of the copyright agencies and ISPs won't see you downloading.

Will TOR also stop those agencies? Should I use either TOR, or PeerBlock, or should I use both?

How do I setup, configure, and use TOR?

Also, would Comodo be a good firewall for this + MSE for Anti-Virus?

TOR was not made for p2p and the high bandwidth that goes with p2p,It would be really slow imo..

yah i never meant to proxy your torrents, any re-routing of your traffic would slow it to a crawl and most services have a relatively small bandwidth cap each month.

Tor is to have privacy while surfing mostly. Peer Block blocks the IP addresses of known spammers and Monitoring Agencies, they work on the reporting system so you need to update it every use. It is meant to run while downloading torrents.

i don't use Comodo so I cant comment on it.

My torrents won't download while running PeerBlock. How do I fix that?

I don't see a point of using Tor if we can't use it for downloading torrents. I thought a proxy was suppose to hide us from the future, so we can still use the torrents?

Are there any such ways to bypass the law, and continue to download?

i've been downloading for quite some time now.(not as long as you though looking at your join date). i dont use anything to hide myself. i'm just very careful what i download, and i've never had a problem.

I use comodo internet security premium it's free and works well.

You got two choices the way I see it, take your chances or go without.
If your going to break the law, know the consequences, the chances of getting busted and the ways to protect yourself.
Personally I'll take my chances because I'm a cheap skate and I disagree with the laws.
It's like smoking pot, it's illegal and lots of people do it but some get caught and suffer the consequences. It all comes down to personal choice.
That's my thoughts anyway.
(I got no advice to offer with your peer block problem sorry, it's always just worked for me)

Thank you for your reply. Honestly, I'm going to take the chances as well. As of today, I'm still downloading.

basically in a previous post be careful what you download.....I think that this is a pretty good piece of advice.
OK to download a movie is according to the screw the public for money crew illegal. However a movie already shown on tv that you have the legal rights to record and watch at leisure is an area where they know they will have troubles so do not bother tracking.
Now you want the latest and greatest just out in the cinema you will find two areas of trouble.
1. the screw you crew will flood the nets with fakes and links to everything but the film.
2. yup they is hot on catching people because you have caused them to lose billions.
Shoot the neighbours dog its an antisocial thing to do..... download a movie get fined 250,000 USD...... how in gods name did that become a reality ???
Thing is it is so ludicrous no one truly believes that dumb FBI warning..
And to top it off, I live not in america but I buy a locally sold officially released movie title for the full price and I get some twisted FBI shit on my asian built telly...... god I don't know if I should laugh at the joke or cry at the sneaky manner in which the FBI polices the private homes of citizens around the world with threats of bankrupty if you do anything but sit in a dark room with the curtains closed to watch the movie........

Now what is an interetesting point and one which none of the rights holders really like to see discussed in the media is. You have a legal copy of an old movie recorded from your tv on a VHS. As you now want to keep this item for personal use as you have paid the tv license and legally are entitled to record it when aired 15 years ago you are worried that the tape will deteriorate. Soooo you make a digital copy for your personal use but the greedy bastards are now saying that to make a digital copy is illegal........... god I hate the mothers. So as the law stands it appears that even what you might legally have in your home if you take a digital version from the nets they want to sue your arse. So we come back to the fight the copyright. Cool world we live in huh.

Anyways..... just be careful and be selective. to be honest going for the latest and greatest is pretty much a bore anyways as a decent rip always take time.
