It depends on the person, some people could handle 3 to 4 drinks and still have some control of their abilities, and others will have one drink and be wasted. I guess it's the same for pot smokers. I don't smoke myself so I can't be an expert on the subject, but I do drink.

I know some people that do smoke though, and they tell me that when they do, it makes them feel like they had a few beers. So if it's true, then pot should be illegal just like alchool when you're driving.

P.S: I don't drink and drive. I used to, but I had a very close call with my wife in the car and that woke me up. Since then if I have a drink it's taxi time.

they did a thing on 5th gear years ago where they tested stoned drivers . they drove as good if not better around a course they had set up when stoned. i remember they knocked a traffic cone over on their first run and after they had a smoke and did the course again they didnt knock any cones over . they said that they thought it probably made people more cautious Shocked

I never drive drunk, did it once and put my car down a grassy hill... Never ever again. But I drive a lot stoned, no problem with that. Usually I'm a more relaxed driver after smoking some weed, that idiot in fron of me who drives only 40 in a 60 zone doesn't bug me that much if I'm stoned Very Happy

Although "stoned" gives a false impression. Guess my tolerance is too high, I'm not getting really stoned by some weed, it just get's me into my comfort zone Cool

when driving and smoking pot you are in a higher state of mind, driving drunk and you're as dull as a doorknob. Laughing

Here's the deal... I'm a Long Haul Trucker... Just bought another new truck.. Cost me 138,000 dollars.. I drive an average of 125,000 Miles (not Klm) a year... You would not believe the stuff I see out on the road... I've seen accidents where they are looking for body parts, head's, arms, legs, pretty disgusting stuff!! Some where drinking, some were smoking... Any substance that affects your ability to react to any given situation makes you Impaired! Personally I feel if you drink and drive or smoke and drive you have no regard for your own life or anyone else...

If you're drinking, smoking up, or just a Retard that thinks your a better driver when you're all smoked up... Don't Drive! If anyone says they're a better driving when they're stoned they've obviously fallen out of the " Complete Idiot Tree " and hit every frigging branch on the way down. Thinking you are a better driver when you're stoned doesn't make you a better driver!! The only reason why more people aren't charged with impaired driving while stoned is because it much harder to detect and no quick way to test it... But believe me, if you get in an accident and kill somebody when you're stoned, the cops will do blood tests and your happy little dream world life is over! Just sayin for you own good! Don't drive while impaired by anything!!!! Life is too precious!!

Just thought I'd add... I'm not against anyone drinking or smoking up or doing what every they want, to have a good time! To each his own as they say... I'm just against driving while impaired no matter what it is... That being said, and after working on my truck all day, I think I'll crack a Cold Beer!! Cheers all... Cheers Cool

I habitually drive drunk. I also drive stoned occasionally.

Its far more dangerous to drive drunk. Motor skills and bad judgement make you a terrible driver who is likely speeding. Stoned on the other hand is easy. You get super focused on driving the speed limit and staying in your lane. Not to mention its a lot of fun.

Driving drunk is far more dangerous and irresponsible, and its not even close.

9 out of 10 retarded drivers polled want me to be stoned when I drive.

The 10th was a drunk driver BTW.

I've read somewhere that even some over the counter cold remedies will affect your response time while driving. So in my opinion driving under the influence of anything is bad for your health or worse, someone else's health.
