Hello everyone, I know that this is not the right section to ask such things, but I couldn`t find any other place to ask it. So my question is: why so many release groups never release a full DVDs (DVD folder or at least ISO-image)? They must have those DVDs in order to make rips, but still they don`t release the whole DVDs. For example, DivXFactory is making lots of rips, but I haven`t seen any DVD released by them. I couldn`t find their forum or website, so the only place to ask is here cause they probably visit this forum. However my question is not related only to them, it`s related to the most of releasers out there. Some of you would say: go to the shop and buy that stuff if you like it so much, but unfortunately I don`t live in US or UK and international shipping costs way too much. Sad

Cheers

this has been asked before.

a dvd is 4GB-8.5GB if i want to use that much bandwidth i will always get 720p/1080p mkv.i have no need for menus and other crap that basically amounts to wasted space.

most dvd's are ripped down to a size that the masses want and will download.

it's the uploaders bandwidth and i'm not paying for it,so should probably just be grateful for anything they share.

True, but lots of movies are DVD-only. Also, there are lots of collectioners who would download it anyways. And what about bandwith? I thought that everyone got unlimited Internet connection now.

no everyone doesn't have unlimited bandwidth,i'm up against my limit every month.

if there was the kind of demand you believe there to be you would find lots of releases of what you are wanting.not sure if he still does but i think there used to one..djfred or something like that, there are a few others you just need to look.

even a poor quality 720p hdtv rip (and most are good) is usually better than a dvd and you usually can find more popular movies that haven't made it to bluray yet.

i pretty much only get 720p/1080p mkv or sometimes mp4.

Allot of videos are ripped from blu ray dvds and converted to mkv or mp4 the files are pretty big unconverted.

I do untouched blu rays or DVD's as requests only, I have unlimited internet usage but it is still far easier for me to rip a DVD to one or two GB's before uploading, a full blu ray is 40GB so it makes sense to rip that to a smaller size, roughly 10GB ...........

vladtapes uploads full DVD's on isoHunt. Think that's the username !

Being in Canada.. this type of service is unheard of (unless you get an ISP with .25 kbs speeds).

So i pick and choose... I know when a flick is coming out that deserves full 1080p... and I allocate my BW so I can get it. As far as the rest of the run of the mill flicks... I look and grab them in a format such as .mkv or .mp4. Still great quality. Really... do I need to see a flick like J. Edgar in full 1080p? Not really.. But a flick like Avatar... sure.

I do not think my response was off topic, but due to my past transgressions, I will accept that as another form of punishment (can I have another one please)
