I always used to download torrents
Now its time to give (Upload) after along time of take (Download)
Suddenly a question popup in my mind after start seeding
I always used to upload and enjoy good quality copied of movies and search for any software here in iso hunt - it is a very valuable advantage to find any Data you need in torrent world
Now I had start making torrents and uploading files for others
I had to make my computer always on as long as I can to satisfy downloaders
Also I used my Friend's Computer to be the 2nd seeder to fasten uploading
After making torrents - I asked my Self - What is the advantages of making torrents and uploading files for others - what is the advantages which is turned back to me after uploading
will it really deserve do effort in making torrents and upload files for others ??
I need to know your answers ?
How do you think in being torrents maker ??
Why Uploader continue uploading and uploading ??
What is the benefit that will turn back to uploaders ??
Answer the Poll then post your Reasons here
Sorry if my English is not good enough to Describe my Idea

File sharing is free therefore if you are an uploader you don't do it looking at the "benefits". There aren't many. Most scene groups do it for the competition (from what I see). A lot of uploaders I know do it for the reputation and to see how big they can get. But the main reason I hear from most is that they just want to share and keep file sharing alive. Outside of those reasons there really aren't any. Uploading takes a lot of time and often, money. Most credible uploaders use a server/seedbox and the even bigger ones use online lockers. For example, ripping a BD disc can take about 30 minutes, conversion to video file (such as MKV) will usually take at least 4 hours depending on quality settings. Then there are the NFO file's, summary pages, screenshots and image hosting, video samples and other informative items. Then you have to get all this onto the server (usually via FTP) which can take hours depending on file sizes and internet connection quality. Then if you are uploading a large pack even adding to your torrent client can take a long time, hash checking can be lengthy on large folders.
So
never
look at it in terms of what
you
can gain. Do it because you want to, or not at all. |

Well you need to ask yourself is if you are providing a new torrent or a torrent with different qualities to the community. Then the answer is yes. Please upload.
If you are adding a torrent that already exists, and has healthy seeders, then you would be better off using your bandwidth in supporting the existing torrent. The more seeders a torrent has, the more popular it will become, and the longer it is likely to stay a viable torrent to download in the future.
You do not have to create a torrent and upload it to be considered a valued contributor to the torrent scene. Rule of thumb I use is that if I download a 1GB file, I leave it in my client until others have uploaded 2GB's worth of data from that file from me. When people follow that ratio, it greatly enhances the healthiness of the torrent scene as a whole. And you will be contributing a lot more this way, then uploading a torrent (no matter how good it may be)... and it sits there with just one or two seeders. |

My Dear
You touched a good point I did not noticed
Really Why Shall I upload a torrent for a file that Already Exist on torrent world
I have only 2 seeders
other torrents of the same files which I had uploaded have many seeders not only tow
So - it is a wast of time for leachers to download a torrent that have a very few seeders if there is another torrent for same file have many seeders
I always depend on downloading torrents which have a lot of seeders and ignore torrents with very few seeders
So you make me turn my mind to think in another way
unique torrents will gain more uploaders more than duplicated torrents
continue seeding after completing download files is better than creating a new torrent for files that are already exist in torrent world
you are correct
so I decided to choose uploading files not been released yet
Because I already see my torrents going to die
the number of downloaders is decreased every day in my client
Thanks for your words which really add new ideas to me |
