Maybe if....I become totally disabled! Confused
Even then, I will soon have enough material streaming around my home network to keep me entertained with little effort.
Let's hope the tech heads among us can continue to find ways to keep the data flowin!

Big business and the government(s) are never going to stop ripping off the people they are supposed to be helping, so why should we ever stop trying to get things for free and share with each other- The difference between the cost of living increase compared to the almost non-existent increase in wages and or welfare/social services is impossible to reconcile and getting worse every year. We as a society are required to find ways to reduce expenses in all areas, and help others do the same. I just wish there was some way to do this with food and clothing... Rolling Eyes

I don't think i will stop downloading either, the prices they sell games, movies, ect most of it is extortionate, I don't think id have half the games or movies i have now if i had to go out and buy them. Wink

I will never stop downloading only because I don't trust releases (whatever that is software, movies, games, music). Downloading is in my case for testing purposes. I want to check if something is worth having or only a well advertised crap. 9 out of 10 times I saved my money doing so as most of the stuff is not worth my money IMHO. If something is good and I'm using it I'm more then happy to buy it. The other thing is that I like to be able to get stuff that is not available in my country like TV shows for example. All the best to You all and 'all day I dream about downloads' Very Happy

no! Even if we were forced via index sites like isohunt being taken down I'm sure we could start up sites where individuals can chat privately and share media using commonly available software. a lot slower but hey what can you do.

I dl tv shows because I hate adverts with such a passion they ruin it for me. whilst i do dl music - if I really love a song I add it to a buying list and will buy it eventually to support the artists like queens of the stone age or the black keys.

The UK is one of the most expensive places in the world to live and its just getting worse and worse so if i can get something for free i will!! Stop ripping me off reducing most of the population to slaves and I'll start being a good little consumer!!

We are all aware of the simple fact that a legit DVD/Bluray has 10 minutes of shite and warnings plus unwanted previews or adverts before the film actually begins. To make matters worse its not a one time thing but every time you put that legal disk in a machine the slew of crap is repeated again.
Most players it is impossible to just fast forward or ignore....its there and you have to suffer it

A download has none of this rubbish to spoil your viewing pleasure or make your kids go crazy with "where is the movie?"

Another point is comfort zone. No need to go out into the heat the cold or the rain. No need to get to a shop.
No need to wait.
A simple search followed by a click and with a fast connection speed with a well seeded file a matter of minutes. Make a coffee come back download is done.

This is the real problem that faces the makers and distributors. In a nutshell they missed the boat years ago. They have spent years trying to sink what is the perfect consumer tool....the webs and bittorrent.
It has not sunk and will not sink and therefore they have already lost. It is now a case of trying to keep the nets open and free as is possible.

Solution is simple, if a company cant compete in the currant market they should file for bankruptcy. No exceptions. Is it our fault an entire industry cant do what a few hackers did for free? Nope. Is it disgusting that said industry is one of the richest in the world? yup.

I stop downloading between 7:00AM and 9:00PM, as I use µTorrent's scheduler. Rolling Eyes

To be serious, I think I won't stop downloading anytime soon. Not altogether, anyway. I download TV eps that I miss, movies that I don't want to watch with commercials, and games I can't afford to buy. Now, as far as games go, I do plan to begin buying a lot of the games I have downloaded, and new ones, of course. Soon as my wallet lets me. However, movies, TV, and certain software will continue to fill up HDDs.
