to share something is to have something and allow others to participate.
Piracy is to sieze something for profit and gain.
The copyright law is written in such a manner that no one may have access to anything if they have not paid the full price for permission.
It is human nature to share, it is in our culture and is a part of what makes humanity as successful as it is.
We see we remember we copy and we improve. Only now the copyright laws as they stand are designed to stop any flow of creativity that does not stem from a controlled and owned source. We are all guilty and must prove innocence. I could rant about the Spanish inquisition as there are similarities.
A small child loves mickey mouse but cannot have a birthday cake in the form of mickey unless walt disney says it is ok......... Since when did such lunacy become the norm ?? |

Funny thing is : the more the MPAA/CRIA/GEMA/whatever is trying to sue Bittorrent search engines and trackers , the more people are getting aware of them (and thus there's more people using them) . So , they manage to achieve exactly the opposite of what they wanted to do . Good for us , bad for them . |

I live in the UK and was playing with the internet years ago ! I was head of mail delivery, in my area in the UK, when Bulletin Boards existed, pre Internet days. So, yes, im old ! I have seen the internet develop, and over the last few years also seen governments attempt to take over, what is basically a huge free sharing tool for all mankind ! Whether it be sharing music, or knowledge !! It real frustrates me however when these governments attempt to decide what us normal humans can or cant read or listen too ! So what we need is internet mark 2 ! An internet that is run by normal humans and not authorisations and governments !! An internet that runs over the top of todays internet. An internet for the future !! |

my sentiments exactly solarsurfer2, i agree with you & many others that i have read since this topic opened. most of the mods & quite a few others have hit the nail on the head in their views & i am behind them all the way. if the government cant tax it or govern it its no good to them, all they see is what profit can be made out of it & if anyone else is making a profit instead of them then they stamp it out (or try) record & film company's forget that if it wasn't for Joe public they wouldn't have a job. the internet should be free to use & free to get stuff. we pay enough in taxes & for the equipment we use to do it as it is. |

I think that it goes without saying.....if no one went to the movies or bought DVDs there would not be any movies being made, if no one bought music or went to concerts, there would be no music being produced.
There are still box office records being broken.....records that were set long before there was the internet are being broken even in age of file sharing.
But as long as the RIAA and the MPAA are being obvious retards about it, I suspect that they will simply embarrass themselves into the nearest closet. My only fear is that there will be a handful of people that may be seriously hurt in the mean time. And that needs to stop right now. |

Since isoHunt is copyrighted, as is evidence of the (C) on the bottom of each page next to the site name, why not counter sue any organization (i.e. MPAA, RIAA, etc.) for copyright infringement on you. If they manage to have the site shut down, then counter sue them, each separately, for infringing on your copyrighted site, and request monetary damages from the time the site goes down: the yearly revenue X the number of years the site was expected to exist (i.e. yearly revenue=$500,000 X years expected to exist=50 years, total=$25 million in damages).
Maybe if that happens, the organizations like MPAA and RIAA, will see how ricidulous their claims and monetary damage requests are, and either stop suing others and just keep requesting files taken down, or at least reduce their monetary damage requests. These organizations should also be required to produce evidence of the exact number of people that would have bought a song or cd if it wasn't available for download, to produce an exact monetary damage claim. But of course they can't do that because they won't find ALL the people that downloaded it, and if found, ALL those people won't say if they would have paid for it or not, so they will not be able to get an exact monetary value to sue for, so they shouldn't be able to get monetary damages. |

if they ban sharing internet provider of whole world would be in great loss
1-how many people use internet only for surfing ?
answer very less according to me 50 mb or maximum 80 mb per day is enough for surfing like reading emails, chatting, playing online games , in offices for office work etc. mostly all of the internet mb data goes on downloading stuffs. so if they ban sharing then internet providers would be in loss up to 75 %
2 there are many movies which you won't find on internet for buying like some of rarest movies but you can find them on internet as a torrent file and you can find those rarest movies then it cost's more than anyone expected
3 but sharing gives the chance to watch the movie so that it's worth buying or not
this is what i think about
please inform me if i am wrong and if anyone's feeling got hurted due to my word's then i am sorry |

Surely this is just stupidity on their part. they can't hope to stop the internet and P2P sharing. They are just grabbing at money. They don't care about copyright, because as previously stated laws for copyright and free P2P sharing aren't clear on whether or not copyright has been breached, so its all up in the air. But was is illegal as defined by copyright law is selling a DVD, CD or game after you have used it without the copyright owners express written consent. Now be honest how many films, games or music disks have you got tired of sitting on that shelf and sold to friends, on ebay or even taking them into blockbusters or cex for cash... Cause to the letter of the copyright agreement for everyone of these you and whoever you sell them to are breaking the law, because you took away revenue when you made it second hand, they could have gone out and bought it new and therefore produced more revenue for its creators. But they don't go after these clear, straightforward claims, instead they choose to go for the unsure, maybe we won't win, but get a lot more money claims...
LMFAO!!!!! PLEASE!!!! People have clearly lost the plot and someone has mixed their multivitamins with nut job pills... |
