Well done DJdezzie, that makes perfect sense to me. I'm surprised I've never heard that before. I've got a mate who actually half believes the end of the world nonsense. I can't wait to hit him with this fact.
Thanks for the ammo lol. |

I will predict the end of the world!!!!
It will happen in about 5 billion years when our sun goes nova.
And yes I will accept all donations from now till then if you are stupid enough to do so.
As far as the rest is concerned about the end of the world, it's all a buch of malarky. How many times has it been predicted and how much money was made by those false priests. No one can predict the end of the world (Except by me ) |

I suggest to do as if the world will stop in 2012 :
Stop stupid work;
Stop to pay your bill
Stop to be polite
Stop cleaning the house
Do party
Have sex
Have fun

Hmmm... you forgot the extra year added around 1200 or so
One thing is utterly wrong though... The Mayas don't have a leap year because they don't need it... their calander is alot more accurate then ours
The leap year is a band aid to fix the little boo boo the European civilisation made in their astronomy |

Well i dont think it will end. But nostradamus said that the first and the second war would happend. And it did. He also saw alots of nature disasters in the start of 2000th centruary. And he saw the third world war comming in the sart of 2000th centruary. So we'll just have to wait and see, don't we? |

I don't know much about the Mayan calendar but I know that what you just said here is utterly wrong.
Do you really think that the leap year is only there to correct a mistake? No.
A day is the amount of time it takes for the Earth to spin on it's axis. A year is the amount of time the Earth takes to complete a full circuit around the sun. The Earth doesn't spin exactly 365 times on it's journey around the sun - it just isn't that convenient as much as our human sensibilities would like it to be. It spins 365 and a bit times. If we stuck to a 365 day calendar then it would drift out of synch over time. Seasons would seem to move slowly to different times of the year and our position relative to the sun for any given date would drift. The extra partial rotations accumulate over the years and have to be taken account of if we want our calendar to have any usefulness. The way it is taken account of is by inserting additional days and seconds into the calendar at appropriate times. This is not less accurate than whatever the Mayans did - it is more accurate. Obviously. |

Nostradamus didn't predict anything. He used a lot of flowery language that didn't mean anything in particular and then later on other people tried to make various phrases fit to real world events. The same thing can be done with any vague sounding text and doesn't prove jack. |

You've read far too many of my posts. Clearly, only Smarties have the answer. |

Strange that yoghurt has an expiry date, hasn't it already "gone off", therefore creating the yoghhurt ? |
