Do you think lucasworks will authorize another installment of the Battlefront series? Why or why not?

Battlefront II was fairly well received, with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions scoring in the mid 80s at aggregators GameRankings and Metacritic. The PC version scored slightly lower at both sites, scoring a 76 at GameRankings and 78 at Metacritic. The PSP version was the worst received, scoring 71 at GameRankings and 69 at Metacritic. Reviewers generally praised the narrative-based story, however some felt that the upgrades from the original were not enough to merit the price.

The above from the wiki link pretty much sums it up......
The star wars franchise does have a huge following so never say its over. I imagine that the present financial climate means that if a new one is t be made it is probably on hold for two reasons.
Cost of production and improving upon te previous games faults that were carried over from the original.
and secondly because with todays ability to gather info before a purchase has improved so much Lucas and any producer for the game can no longer survive with hype alone.

Ha man I was thinking the same thing. Me and my friends have been enjoying playing SW BF2 for years but we want a BF3. BF3, like KOTOR 3, would probably sell REALLY well but for some reason it hasn't ever been made.

To answer your question... I am not sure. I mean who knows. I am always hoping BF3 and KOTOR 3 will be picked up by someone and made. Hopefully Lucas Arts will get that giant stick of there arse and approve 'em. There is always a chance no matter how slim.
