Okay I know I'm making lot of topics these days but I don't see anyone talking about the game and soon it will be released
No I didn't play any Diablo before but the game that got me into ARPG is Titan Quest which I'm still playing it with my friend (coop)
Is Diablo worth getting ? |

It's pretty much similar to Titan Quest. But a bit more dark and grim, with evil spirits, undeads lurking in the shadows of dark old dungeons.
I had a very exciting time playing Diablo 2 back in the days. I'll upgrade my PC for this one if necessary. The screenshots are tempting..
Cheers for reminding. |

So...Who bought it then?
I'm at the start of Act 2 and have to say I'm loving it so far, which has surprised me. I've never been a big fan of top down hack and slashers and admittedly I did buy this game on a whim, but it is extremely addictive.

diablo 3 is a pretty great game, i havnt bought the retail version but i did play the beta. the first 2 were insanely ahead of there times when they came out as is diablo 3. now i dont suggest downloading any copies from any websites other then battle.net since everyone claims a "crack" will eventually come and work, but it wont since this is purely an online game. so just a heads up if you want to play this game you will need the following.
a retail version of diablo 3 (bought from battle.net or any retail store that sells it)
a battle.net account (free and easy to set up)
a battle tag (you get this once you set up a battle.net account)
do not trust any of the downloads since even with them the game will fail and blizzard will ban your account, your IP and in some severe cases file a small law suit resulting in massive payment and or jail time. |

So I bought my son Diablo 3 and his biggest complaint is that you have to have an active internet connection to actually play the game. And that is fine except that any hickups in the connection and if you happen to be in the middle of big battle and about to win........poof...try again.
We have good bandwidth 24/6 Mbit so I am wondering if there is a Blizzard Port that I need to open up? Or for that matter, maybe an offline mode you can play. Right now he is not playing the game online or rather playing other players. |

No need to open ports unless your router/firewall is crazy
| Quote: |
Diablo III uses the following ports:
80: HTTP
1119: Game client; Patch version queries by the Launcher
6881-6999: Launcher; Downloading |
For the offline mode I'm sure some people are working to have a workaround for this. |

I suppose it would not hurt to make sure all the ports are open.
Another possible hang up is my home is completely wireless and as I have found out, it may still be fast but not without its own problems. I suppose I could try going ahead and using a LAN cable from the router to his room, but from what I have been reading, it is server load causing the drop outs not my wireless system.
There should be a way for Blizzard to comp the folks that pay top dollar for the new releases only to find out that being first to own means first to moan. 1-800-Waa-aaaa is the only functional support number I have been able to find that actually works, you don't even need to dial the number. |

I will see if my son has created an online handle. demon_oid I think is his handle if he has one. He is the Diablo expert in the House, I am an old school StarCraft guru that used to routinely get stomped in online play. |

If D3 is anywhere as addictive as D2 was, I am not playing.
I played D2 LOD for years, I did a 100.000 Mephruns, all I needed to run meph in hell HC was a lvl 61 sorc and a Wizardspike.
And then I got into PK'ing in HC. Another addiction to the rush, I killed 1500 playerchars for sure. |
