Not ones you went with your mum to see when you were seven, your first memory as an older kid that you went to by yourself.

I went to local picture theater heaps as a kid on Saturday afternoon but I can't really remember much of them as it was more of a case of mucking about with me mates and eating lollies (I can remember quite clear buying lollies lol). But The first one I actually went to the cinema to actually see was a twin showing of

BMX Bandits
(With a young Nichole Kidman)

and the classic

WarGames

Agh the good ol days. Mine was the lawn mower man. We was so underage it was stupid. But made it through. Sadly the film looks a little dated now. And the cinemas been completely knocked down.

Mine was walking through a friggin blizzard with my sister to go see Walt Disney's 101 Dalmatians... It cost 50 cents to get into the show and we each had 25 cents, which was enough for a large buttered popcorn, a pop, and a bag of liquorish. and Y.E.S.... it was a loooooong time ago LOL

Hmm. I think maybe star trek generations, thats the first i can think of where i wasnt with one of my parents. Think the first time i was ever in cinema was when my mom took us to see teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Dementia is coming soon and I am sure u babies do not recognise these movies.

Even as very small I was fond of thrillers. One of the very earliest movies I remember from TV was a movie where a kid (boy) was entering to the wooden house in a forest, there was some kind of monster using an axe. I peeped this movie from the door. never seen it since.

second thriller I remember from TV, that was really scary, was about two kids running from a stepfather who had killed their mother. the doll was in a very special role in this movie. I remember always the mother lying in water and kids found her. and that preacher stepfather singing while hunting the kids. later found this movie: Robert Mitchum in leading role in Night of the hunter fro 1955 (i am not that old). Movie was still good, but maybe not that scary anymore..

EDIT Uups, just read trollster´s comment. Real Movie experience in theater? Well, I grew up with black&white TV and the first movie experience in theater was an old american movie: Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing.

Excuse me but there was not good movies that time in our theaters for under 14.

But then came John Travolta and Grease.

^^Star Wars as the first movie!! wow! nothing can beat that...the force is strongest on that one.

When I was seven; mum took me to the theaters; my first English movie ever. .... Jurassic Park (1993) . I was like "wtf! I'm just a kid ffs. Am I even supposed to see these monsters!! Bad bad parenting!" Laughing

No wonder, my love and addiction for movies blossomed since Jurassic Park happened. I get goosebumps whenever I see the poster...

With friends (1997): Mission Impossible (1996)

At Home (on VHS tape) (1995): E.T. (1982) And I was sobbing the whole day!

We weren't allowed to watch English movies back when I was a kid (below 8-9 years) because of the sudden flash of erotic scenes, even if it was a kiss lol.

My first movie memory by myself was "Enter the dragon" with Bruce Lee, back around 1977.
That's back when a movie stayed at the cinema for half the year.

Bambi but only remember being pissed off as so many kids and specially girls wailed and sniffed the entire movie once the mother was shot and only really remember the scenes with thumper on the ice.
Goldfinger...... in 1966 is my first real movie memory where I can still to this day remember the excitement and wow factor.
