isohunt forcing coupon software?

I've been coming here for many years. I've encouraged many others to do the same... but now I see we're forcing coupon software on people? WTF.

Yes, of course, I'm smart enough to notice the browser addons that I'm getting instead of a download, and then going back and unchecking a box to get my download, but how many people are not so bright?

As someone who's donated and supported this site over the years, I can't in good conscience support anyone that does this to people... letting unscrupulous advertisers install crap on people's PCs that they neither want, nor asked for.

Is there any explanation for this, other than an attempt to scrape money from users?

It was a good run, but it's sad to see the site be reduced to this after all these years. Sad

Isohunt has always had adverts but as no-one wants anything to do with filesharing we have to make do with ad servers. They help pay the bills and seeing as we are going through court cases and PayPal blocked our account it is very much needed.

Don't want to see the ads? We would prefer you to donate but have no qualms with users using an ad blocker. Ultimately this is a free service and also an index site so please don't feel that silently leeching content that originates from other sites is "support" in any way shape or form. I also wish you luck finding an ad-less public site.

Lastly if you find a bad ad you can report it. Clearly you have never bothered to read the FAQ in all the time you've "been coming here for many years".

We don't "force" anything on you, we don't force you to come here.
