What on earth is a captcha? Never heard the word before. All I want to do is leave a comment on a torrent and although I've used Isohunt for years, I signed in, as requested!, it would not let me leave one!

the captcha has been here for years.so you must not have actually used isohunt for a while.

and please captcha is everywhere to verify users,to spot spam,etc...i fixed your rep so it won't show unless you are trying to post a link.then you need to fill it out like a lot of other sites.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I still have no idea what it's about. I download several Gbs of stuff every month on Isohunt but have never some across this before until I tried to post a reply to a comment left about a torrent. I've just left one and it worked. If that happens next time i will never see the word "captcha" again probably! Don't know why it worked this time when it didn't 2 hours ago. anyway, hopefully it aon't crop up again. cheers j

don't disable BBCode if you are going to quote people..i fixed it this time.

the reason you didn't see the captcha this time is because as i said i fixed your rep.users need over ten to not get the pop up,it's an anti-spammer thing.

a captcha is normally a couple of letters and numbers that you have to copy into the space.
its used so that it knows a human is leaving the comment and not some computer programme.
i even have to fill one in now and again to get into my email, so i'm suprised you've never come across them before.

dont worry about them, there just added security.

If it makes you feel any better some of those Captcha (Re-Captcha) tools are actually used to translate ancient or classic text.

I have used Isohunt for years and today wanted to contribute leaving a comment but the verification Captcha phrase never worked, I tried entering it 10 times but I gave up.
I understand the need to keep security but must be something not working for me.
