Processor: INTEL i5 - 760 @ 2.8Ghz (currently OC running @ 3.3Ghz)
Mainboard: ASUS P7-P55D-E
RAM: 2 x PNY 2Gb DDR3 DiMM

I have build it myself about a year ago, some parts like HDD, Gfx card and display I have taken from my previous PC. Until today a very good machine, I can still play newest releases. Now thinking only about new, fast HDD and a Gfx card. Greetz Cheers

Hello Mate!
I was just thinking about Your post and Your config. Going the easiest way (if You can build it yourself and as I presume You live in UK) is to check pcworld.co.uk to know prices. I bought my mainboard, processor and memory there on the site and got it sent to my address (check my config in my latest post in this topic, it's a year old now and I paid £350 for those 3 things then). Focus mainly on good mainboard, memory, gfxcard and powerfull power supply, then You have a winner. Processors are costly so look for something that won't ruin Your wallet considering the price of the other stuff. I would stay with this big TV instead of getting a new monitor. Check if You can fit new mainboard to old case but a new one shouldn't be so dear. For £800 You should be able to get some good stuff, even a new, fast HDD. Good luck.

i just built this recently for around $1000US,think that's about £650 and it will kick ass.you will be able to hdmi to the tv then.

https://ca.isohunt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2257669#2257669

you could add another GPU for crossfire and still be under £800 and may be able to find things cheaper.i was getting paid by my sisters insurance to replace one burnt in a fire so wasn't concerned with that.

So I've got all my parts in boxes now!

CPU - i5 3570k
MOBO - Gigabyte z77x dh3
GPU - HD 7870 (With two free games! Yay!)
RAM - 8Gb Kingston HyperX 1600MHz
PSU - XFX Force Pro-Series 750W (Semi Modular)
HDD - 2Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM
SSD - 128Gb Kingston Hyperx 3K
Case - Corsair 200R

Mouse - Gigabyte M6900 (Optical)
Monitor - LG IPS234V-PN 23" (LED IPS)

All this for £900. The only thing I've reused from my old computer is my keyboard! I may need to salvage the dvd drive to but I guess I can do that if I ever need it. Edit: I've also reused my old Logitech x-540 speakers! They cost me £50 4and 1/2 years ago and they still kick ass today.

You could get this build for less than about £650 without the SSD, monitor and mouse which was my budget for the key components.

Give me 20 mins and I'll post a pic in the picture thread. I've just got to assemble it and install Win7 (but that should take like 5 mins since it's from a USB 3.0 pen into my brand new USB 3.0 capable motherboard!)

EDIT: So I've built it. It took me an hour instead of the predicted 20mins but that includes the huge dump I took half way through which used up at least 25 mins! I wasn't gonna get the SSD but I thought why the hell not!? I want one and I can afford it. Anyway I'm glad I did because from when I press the ON button it only takes 5.13 seconds (I timed it on my phones stopwatch) for windows to fully launch and just sit idling waiting for me to open firefox or what ever.... Totally worth it! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
