well, it sounds like a good idea to download and install this...
but I got a question...does it make the risk smaller, that I will be spotted while downloading? |

peer guardian is a like a firewall...
if you already have a firewall...
You shouldnt use something that is technically "Double Firewalling" because this lowers your existing firewalls capability of monitoring connections.
Any newtork security advisor / professional or network admin worth their salt would tell you this and why it is bad to use double firewalling.
Just be aware that it is detrimental to your system, either run one or the other but not both. Anyone telling you that theirs no issues doesnt understand how port clashing can cause easy access to your system, it is well documented on the internet, so you dont just need to take my word for it, double firewalling is a seriuously bad move.
Be warned.

without a court order, NO ONE can enter your property, IF they do, they have trespassed and can be dealt with under the same laws that caught your friend.
I am betting he was "Double" firewalled as well...
edit dont double post By Fox

Pheonix Labs FAQ says:

Can PeerGuardian replace my firewall?
No! PeerGuardian has been heavily optimized for what it needs to do and is _not_ a replacement for your firewall.

Hi all,
I suppose in some respect it will be trial and error as to when you want to use it and when you don't. I'll start with it all the time and gradually lower my security if I get problems with games/conenctions.
Anyway - nice on brothers - keep up the good work.
[mod] Plz don't post just anything to get the postcount. Pointless posts removed. We have a great rep system to thank those who helped u out.

Do not post the same question in two different threads. |

| Not to scare you, but I use Peer Guardian and still got caught. I received a letter (2 actually) from Charter a couple days ago for downloading some stuff related to The Teaching Company. |
It may be that some ISP's are selling you out to the RIAA. It's well known that they're getting cosier these days. Another possibility is that the RIAA is outsourcing investigations to someone that uses trojans. I suggest you change your ISP and do a full scan of your PC with several different programs. eg. Avast antivirus, a2-squared and Spybot S & D. |

Does blocking all of the choices besides just p2p, does that have an effect on the way PG2 will work or no? |
