Your political system isn't gonna change either, as the current system lends itself too well to mercantilism. Corrupt w@nkers all.

you will never see your average good hearted joe blow that wants to make a change end up in office... why? well because joe blow doesnt get campaign contributions, therefore joe blow doesnt get advertising and etc... as for the candidates? well, i believe i may boycott this election... there is really no reason for me to go out and vote, all the candidate hopefuls are worthless... |
It appears my communication skills have been questioned by someone who writes:

Ha.lol.
More on the topic, it was reported today that Barrack (Hussein) Obama, one of the Democratic candidates for President just raised more money in one quarter than any other Democrat in USA History: $35.5 million USD.
The idea that the first black candidate would set a record in fund-raising is totally unexpected and unbelievable. And, IMO, fantastic, since he strikes me as the most intelligent and most moral of the group, with the best ideas for improving the country that I've heard so far (including getting out of Iraq).
I'd encourage NOT boycotting elections, BTW. That's just lets the bad guys win. It's defeatist. And part of their ploy is to make it all so disgusting, all so unpleasant, that folks don't want to be involved.
Of course it's not everybody's cup of tea.
If anyone wants to start a topic, BTW, on
"Why so&so sucks
I have a lot of contributions and opinions I'd like to offer.

in my opinion, Ron Paul is the best, he deserves to be president. I think a lot of democrats would agree with most of what he says, however most of them vote party lines.
I think obama is set to win it, which is a shame. he's just like FDR, does great, inspirational speeches, but has some crappy policies, little experience, and will probably make things worse for a country in time of need (though he wouldn't be as bad as Bush overall). The only thing I'm not totally sure about is that a black guy would not fly for a lot in the south. I haven't met anyone who cares one bit that he's black, but then again, I live in Wisconsin, a pretty progressive state (not to brag).
Hill-dawg won't win. first, she's one of the most corrupt politicians in DC (she was #2 or 3 in a non-partisan list of corrupted politicians, #1 among democrats). second, whoever isn't a clinton fanatic/ignoramus absolutely hates her. many dems don't like her too. I'm not even worried about hill-town. she's has a little group of fanatical supporters and that's all. |

god I hate our political system, all it is now is money and TV campaigns cause the vast majority of our populace doesn't fcking read or care about a politicians stance on the issues. I'm guilty myself though... I'ma vote Obama probably, why? Hist stance on the issues, his policies? Nope. I just think he looks cool, if the lights on him just right I swear he looks like the T-1000, (y'know the liquid metal guy) |

citizenbfk, i just want to clarify one thing. Giuliani was the best mayor NYC ever had. His personal life is just that, and has no bearing on his ability to govern a big city such as NYC. I'm stating this as a former New Yorker. Bloomberg has got to be one of the worst. He has done NOTHING for the city. However Guliani has done so much.
Second of all, I wouldn't put words into the mouths of firefighters at 9/11, as I was one of them, and disagree totally. And was not alone.
This thread does not interest me in the least, I just had to make that point clear. |

so this is where you jackoffs congregate...
a quick look at this forum is a good reminder of why Republicans will have held the white house and legislature, either one at a time or the same time, since the early 80's. Wake up! |

Forgot about Obama, I get tired of watching him dance around the issues. Forget about Hillary, she's just a bad republican...plus her new campaign theme song is that new song by Celine Deon...lame. Check out Mike Gravel. |

This is a surprising thing to say since the opposition of several firefighter unions to Guiliani is common knowledge. Check out the reasons for the International Association of Firefighters refusing to even invite him to their presidential forum, back in March 07at:
http://firefightingnews.com/article-US.cfm?articleID=27125
To this day firefighter groups hound his every step, such as the "9/11 Firefighters & Families"speaking at colleges in New Hampshire and Iowa, the first states to hold primaries. See:
http://news.bostonherald.com/news/national/politics/2008/view.bg?articleid=1044451
It's also a pretty well known fact that NO ONE SNGLE FIREFIGHTER OF 9/11 HAS GOTTEN PAID FOR MEDICAL CARE FOR 9/11 CAUSES ILLNESSES!!
New York State claims the connection between their illness and 9/11 can not be proven. This is a national disgrace and has a lot of firefighters talking about how they went "from Hero to Zero" overnight.
If you are indeed a firefighter it would seem you should at least acknowledge these concerns of your brothers. A Google search for "Giuliani" & "Firefighters" can quickly bring you up to date.
_________
TOPIC FOR TODAY
DEMOCRATIC AND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE UPDATE: NOV. 16,2007[/COLOR]
The last debate of the Demo candidates was last night, in Nevada. The next big news will be the primary election results in Iowa, in about 50 days.
To keep it short:
It was darn impressive.
At first I moaned when these people starting announcing they were running for office, --- something like 20 months before the actual election!!!! ---but the result is they had to get their butts out of Washington D.C. and go around the states talking to people. And this process has already been so long and covered in such detail that: CHARADES, DOUBLETALK AND DECEPTION is not holding up to the rigors of the campaign.
Supercool.
Also -- incredible --
the Ultimate Supercool thing happen, IMHO: UberCool.
: THE CANDIDATES' DEBATES LED TO ACTUAL REAL POLITICAL ACTION!
Gasp!
Last week the Governor of New York State threw up his hands, admitted defeat, and withdrew a plan of his to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens (aka: people in the country illegally).
Without getting into all the detail but USA policy on it's borders and immigration is about as coherent and skilled as a group of USA grade-school children playing soccer (aka: football). Grasp the picture?
This is also a good example of how when these politicians were living in the bubble, the other worldly Atlantis of Cash & Disconnects of D.C. -- their Democratic policy of immigration was able to thrive due to rich supplies of lobbying and cash, but totally out of synch with the Vast Majority of the "real people," in the real world.
Same thing with Iraq. Same thing with Iran -- although there are different lobbying grups and Big Bucks behind that warmongering.
___
I must say, too, Yanks slugging it out with full free speech can be an impressive sight. We WILL say and think anything, you know. No part of the human body or the human body-politic hasn't been explored or televised.
Any of these Democratic candidates could win the primary and I'd vote for them. Since I want to kick Republican butt all the way down Pennsylvania Ave. that was a foregone conclusion; but now I'm beginning to feel quick good about how things are going, IMO. |

Well

you seem to be a very politically involved person and a devout Democrat, What I see though is a lot of crying about the Republican Party winning past elections and the fact that

you would vote for any and/or all non-Republican with it seems no regard of their political beliefs as long as they are not Republican. Yea thats smart. Now I am not very political person so I ask, Do all of the Democratic candidates have the exact same views and political agenda? I can't say that I am for the "Pick one any one it doesn't matter they are not Republican policy". In the past I have voted Democratic, Republican, Independent, and in some cases not voted at all, In any case it was for their individual views and not for the hate of another party.
I wasn't going to get into this, But after reading information on the
See ACT!
website that you support in particular (not that I agree with any of them) number 5 of the "THE 5-PART PATRIOT PLAN."
short version:
| Quote: |
DISCOURAGEMENT OF ANY THIRD-PARTY OR INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES IN 2008; ENCOURAGEMENT OF SOME "PARLIMENTARY SYSTEM IDEAS"
IN 2010. |
Long version:
| Quote: |
TELL ANYONE WHO SUGGEST VOTING FOR A THIRD PARTY OR INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE IN THE 2008 ELECTIONS THAT THEY ARE EITHER OUT OF THEIR MIND OR OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY.
IF THESE THIRD-PARTY GROUPS WANT TO "GET REAL," THEY HAVE TO WORK AND ESTABLISH A PARLIMENTARY SYSTEM OR MAKE SYSTEMIC CHANGES, ONE-STEP-AT-A-TIME, IN OUR CURRENT SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT FIRST, BEFORE HOPING TO WIN ANYTHING IN A USA ELECTIONS. RECENT EXPERIENCE SHOWS THE REPUBLICANS COULD MAINTAIN POWER IF THERE ARE INDEPENDENT OR OTHER THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES. |
Sorry about the CAPS it was copy and paste.
Could you cry any louder, Waaaaa my party can't get elected because of you Independent party people. You want a parliament (notice in the quotes above that it is misspelled) you can move to any number of countries that have one.
Having said that I want to say thank you I think I'll do my best to vote Republican from now on. If anybody cares or is still reading this crap my view on Iraq, Any country that have wars and kill each other over Religion two words "Sand Dune" I mean come an a belief that is thousands of years old, Made up when man was not able to comprehend the things that where happening around him is f**kin bullshit, and people bitch about the USA. OK I'm done. Thank You again. |
