That sounds innocent enough, Although in my few years on this planet one thing i have learned is that there are three (3) sides to every story- Side "A"
- Side "B"
- The truth
So having only heard Side "A" sounds like a bad deal, But I don't know the whole story. |

Due to the number of people complaining about being banned, I feel the need to make a topic devoted specifically to the rules of the IRC channel.
Now, quite a few of these rules are common sense, but there are more specific rules that are noticed to you on join, and in the topic. Regardless of that fact, some people still manage to completely f**kin ignore them... so here they are again.
1) The IRC channel is not for help, reseed requests, files chat, cdkey trading, password requests, or anything like that... the IRC channel is for discussion .
2) Intollerance is not tollerated(irony)... that means don't call someone a fag, a nigger, whatever. It's not acceptable.
3) If you are being disruptive, lame, or stupid, you will be removed from the channel.
4) Ban evasion will get you a global zline from p2p-net, no exceptions.
5) No spamming, flooding, loading clones, loading xdcc bots, or anything like that.
6) These rules are not the limits of hops/ops powers , our channel operators have the discretion to remove anyone for any reason they find worthy, and we trust their judgement. That is why they have the power they have. If you do have a complaint, please bring it up... but understand that our ops have a track record for making good decisions, and a little pissy fit because you didn't read these rules isn't going to get their power removed.
7) You are encouraged to also read the MOTD of P2P-NET, as not only do channel rules apply to you, but server rules as well. The MOTD is shown each time you connect to the server, and can be reqested from the server by typing /motd
Few, if any exceptions for these rules will be made, it is up the the channel operators what action shall be taken.
Remember, IRC - like this site as a whole - is a privilege, not a right. |
i dunno, you coulda been guilty of rule #3... who knows... either way, read the rules thoroughly, and if what you say is true, maybe you caught an operator on a bad day or somethin... you quite possibly will get unbanned... i havent been in the irc for a year or so, and then it was just a couple times so i dont know what the atmosphere is like... either way, play it cool and give it a day or so for the ops to check your thread... good luck and have a good one sir...

Dude, what you just said would have gotten you kicked out of irc, for being lame.
For your information,
1. Not all operators in irc are actually Mods here.
2. This forum isn't irc
3. Complaining about irc in this forum is totally senseless.

My guess is another operator or our bot kicked you out, lesson ONE of using any irc channel/room is read the rules before typing. Lesson TWO don't bitch when you get kicked for not reading them first. |

that was kinda sketchy to get him banned, no doubt it was lame, but after you warned him all he did was ask you about a game... you need not be elitist about the situation, that is a good way to alienate people from the site... remember it is a chat and it does say this on the main page of the site:
| Quote: |
| Also check out the Releases system, which supports various P2P links and torrents. There are guides in the forums for new visitors,
or come chat with us live on irc.isohunt.com, #isoHunt, on P2P-NET.
|
if you plan on being a dick about the situation of the irc chat, maybe that should be stripped off the main page... |

Smartest words yet, case closed, thread closed.
Bans in irc are
usually temporary
, Ops get sick of telling people shit they should have read on entering.
Locking thread.
