UPDATE:
Another thread on
reviews of the toolbar.
There's been many
toolbars, plugins
and
widgets
for isoHunt, but we've created a
new toolbar
I'm particularly proud of. It gives you:
- Quick access to searching isoHunt Torrents, isoHunt Releases, as well as torrents from Torrentbox.com and Podtropolis.com. Includes Web search of course, powered by Google
- By-category RSS feeds of all of isoHunt, Torrentbox and Podtropolis's latest torrents, in dropdown sub-menus
- Instant access to isoHunt Releases and top searches
- News feeds from our frontpage, as well as other P2P and BitTorrent news sources
- Tons of other useful features, such as popup blocking, local weather, radio, unit converter, etc. Too many to list all
In short, it gives you instant search and browsing of all our torrents and news. The torrents and news feeds are updated in realtime. It's co-developed and tested by us so it's malware-free, and works in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Normally I don't have much love for toolbars but this is one I would use myself. So what are you waiting for,
try it out!
Speaking of search and statistics, here are graphs showing isoHunt's indexed torrents count since we started tracking last year:
Due to server migration, we have split data and graphs. But looking at trends in these graphs, we are seeing steady growth. As we track
most BitTorrent sites on the internet,
this is indicative of the BitTorrent system.
Also it's important to note that our index, unlike many other sites which keeps torrents indefinitely, is constantly updated and pruned. Inactive/dead torrents are deleted. That's why you see dips in the graph, when large batches of torrents were pruned faster than new torrrents were indexed. Pruning also include spam filtering (below), which is why we don't boast the largest index by torrents count, but the largest
quality
index. And general growth of the global torrents count remains.
Another thing of note is that we take spam filtering seriously, which includes a combination of statistical analysis and
your reports.
It is the nature of any open system, that more popular it is, the more spam there would be. So please
report as you see them!

small problem with the toolbar, using ie7 and vista ultimate 64, when i click to open the torrents and the news drop down menus, they show up for about 1 second and then dissappear, no matter what I do they will not stay open. all other menus open fine. I suppose this is where I should post about it as I dont see any sections for this. would like to have access to those two perticular drop down menus, the whole reason I installed the toolbar, lol. |

Just started using the new isohunt toolbar and it looks really good, I like its collection of gadgets, it has a good choice of radio stations, good search options, I'm sure it will be very handy. |

This is the best toolbar that I have ever used. I am one of the people that detest toolbars because most of the time they are filled with nothing but junk. Man is this one the bomb. I love all of the features that have been integrated into it, especially the streaming music channels.
Great work crew and thank you so much for the work and effort for something that is incredible to use. |

I have to concur with the majority here in that I am not a fan of toolbars but being a user of IsoHunt for awhile and now a member I will give it a try, especially since I am here almost daily. I have seen nothing to make me think you guys will give us nothing less than the best. This is the one and only site, as far as I am concerned, when it comes to torrent searching. Kudos to "the powers that be" behind this place, your work here is appreciated.
Peace
Wicked
ps...Could someone direct me as to how to add an affiliate button to my blog site. I was trying to find the code that will allow me to place it so it would link back to here. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Some basic html code for a linkbutton:
| Code: |
| <a href="http://www.isohunt.com"><img src="http://isohunt.com/img/buttons/isohunt-01.gif" alt="isoHunt torrent search"/></a> |
more buttons: http://isohunt.com/link2us.php |

The toolbar is more annoying than anything. The radio feature is glitchy. It will stop anytime the toolbar decides to update your RSS feeds, or latest news etc. The toolbar also turns the right click menu in IE7 to a very basic, and UGLY looking one. (Don't even start with your BS about switching to firefox/mozilla etc, I am sticking IE7 thanks)
I am a fan of isohunt and what they represent for the online community. However, I am going to keep my links bar instead, and leave isohunt there.
PS: I hate to be picky, but the installer looks ancient. I cant remember the last time I installed software using the "Wise" wizard... Sigh. |
