This is a quote from Ozperson in another forum:

If you join a torrent site/s eg. TorrentBox (Isohunt's sister site) and click on upload it will list a number of trackers which you can put in your torrent.

Also this sticky shows how to make a torrent and has a big list of open/public trackers which can be included in your torrent:
http://isohunt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102023

If you are using UTorrent leave a blank line between each tracker.
It's a good idea to put a number of trackers in the list, because sometimes they go off-line, I usually include 5 trackers in mine.

These are some trackers I suggest:
http://tracker.torrentbox.com:2710/announce (if you are uploading to TorrentBox)
http://open.tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce
http://www.sumotracker.com/announce
http://vip.tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce

Have some newbie question here:

Any restriction on how much tracker we put inside the .torrent?
Is there any utility that we can run to check each tracker?

Thx.

The number of trackers is not limited, in my opinion a minimum of 3 trackers up to a maximum of 10 is a good number.

I don't know of any utility to check that a tracker is working, however if you keep a few downloaded torrents in your bittorrent client which have a large number of trackers you can start seeding for a minute to check if the trackers are working, also this site may help:

http://.(info)/p/tlist.htm

Note: not all of the ones listed on the Beehive site are public, many are private and will not allow unregistered peers access to uploading, or downloading or both.

Thats correct, a torrent needs at least 3 trackers in my opinion, more is even better.
