Wii who else is disappointed

games are okish but no where near the power of other leading consoles , I will give the Wii it due tho it the smallest and I think the most stylish and the wii mote does give it uniqueness but no decent mp3 or media center unless you use photo channel and do it as slide show then you can select a mp3 as a backing track hardly a mp3 player and ok Nintendo did only say mp3 play back capability not mp3 player but one would expect at least a fast forward button pause and skip track is that to much to ask.

cant watch any other format apart from huge files (Motion JPEG (PCM) ) that 10x bigger than standard divx or standard mpeg in fact iv found it easier to make a .net server that has access to my pc and a flash player so I can watch them all on my tv through my Wii(the vga lead is a lot easier but does not do sound and burning dvds to play in my player just is not my style I want a easy way 30 seconds and no waste also I have far to many moves to just burn to dvd even if they where divx which my player does support) but serious going to that length to play a move it cant even play dvd's, even last generation consoles could play dvd's (xbox , ps2)

the web browser opera you have to pay for on the Wii(after beta version) how much of a rip of is that , Nintendo did advertise that it had web browsing capability didn't mention its a separate program that you pay for in the description I read.

I noticed that this happens a lot with Nintendo they don't sell anything complete Wii mote and num-chuck come separate ,Wii games and there plug in bits(extras) that are ok not required but defies the point of the game with out it(for some games) you have to purchase separately. And I bet if the music channel is released (bit to little to late in my opinion) it wont be a free channel.

if it was not for the fact home-brew is still fighting for our rites (making it so we can cheat and download what we want for free(mainly donated and open source apps) and play what we want) I would be extremely upset and it is still under warranty so I cant(don't wish to) open it and chip the thing to do every think I want it to, but in reality i shouldn't need to

now I do know that it is a game console and these are all extras that are not nessersary features that are needed on a console how ever with other consoles on the market at least for the last 5 years these have become standard advantages one would expect

hmm, for me it was just a new innovative way to play games, which i think is cool, gets me off the sofa when playing wiisports Wink

instead of sitting there playing gtaIV on the 360 like a stuffed duck Laughing

Personally i think Wii is great , its get kids and adults alike active while gaming and having a laugh. Far better than just getting fat and lazy with strong thumbs !

nintendo knew thew that an over powered system couldnt compete with ps3, and knew a low-cost, intuitive system would have a bigger impact. and it worked.

i dont blame nintendo for skipping features. it makes sense, and now their #1. if you want an overpowered system get a ps3/360

I believe people have miss understood me I am not ranting about the games the 1 thing I do like.
I dislike fact certain things Nintendo said I could do where not probably supported like mp3 web browse requires a separate payment

I don't expect something to compete with the ps3\xbox360 because where I live any way they are double the price of the Wii so obviously its a bit like the game cube in that respect designed to play littler more party games such as Mario kart and super smash brothers how ever the fact is it don't have no extras one would expect it cant even play cd audio

I do admit tho I like the fact the usb suport keyboard try surf the web on that little Wii mote moving for each letter when you have to type in www.isohunt.com it takes like 2 mins but that is a good point I just think I got kinda screwed since Nintendo did advertise and I quote “mp3 capability” ,”web surfing capability” as for mp3 its not correctly supported ok you can play um but its sort like high school student first programming project no forward button no pause no control over the mp3 at all and the web surfing capability separate payment required was not listed on the Wii list also opera for the wii can only support flash 7 due to SDK problems(not Nintendo or opera fault but still) so half the sites don't work so I paid for a web browser the equivalent of the one on my phone which is free

I do fully agree Nintendo never designed the wii to be the power station that other consoles on the market are as I said before its more a party game thing like the game cube and the Wii mote does add exclusivity that makes this console totally unique in that sence but I do believe Nintendo did advertise things wrongly and I am disappointed about how little else it can do but after i see the replies to this thread I see I am in the minority im glad you are all pleased with it Smile

Well that's the Wii is really the upgrade to game cube so I suppose 1 decent thing is backward capability but then again the processors are virtually the same just the Wii one is faster according to home brew its the ati chip that's the big difference between the game cube and the wii

The Wii uses an ATI chipset. ATI is the company.

I owned all three consoles and after a while just didn't play my Wii, so I traded it in. I have not regret it ever since. I love my Xbox 360 and PS3 so much more.

Wii is orginally made for families

So I'm happy with my PS3

It's also nice to get Wii for a small kid / children

The thing is most people only want the basics they dont notice quality difference they just want cool gameplay. Thats why all the kids are getting it. If you gave them a 360/PS3 and a wii theyd probably see something. Wii is success because its fun but could be better with more online play and wii mote suppport

I bought a Wii for my eight year old she loves it, but then again 80% of the games are marketed at kids, its not meant to compete with other consoles

Wii can do nothing with PS3 and 360 because they got a big different between eachother
