- You can use boolean operators (-, |, OR), wildcards (*, ?), and phrase search (") in your query
- For BitTorrent: Paste in a 40 characters info_hash, to search for that particular torrent and get all trackers for it

I did, after I posted that. And BIND9, when set up properly, is far stronger than tinyDNS.
As for the redundancy factor, it's a good idea, but when it comes to a site like this, two nodes simply is simply a bad idea. Three or more is good for stability. It may seem like overkill to some, but then again, odds are they aren't thinking about true redundancy. |
Let's take a quick accounting... Which one has:
less lines of code?
| Code: |
6.3M bind-9.4.2.tar.gz
88K djbdns-1.05.tar.gz
find bind-9.4.2 -type f | wc -l
2395
find djbdns-1.05 -type f | wc -l
243
|
less exploits against it in the last 10 years? tinydns again
It seems to me that your hardon for bind has nothing to do with rational thought, and everything to do with ignorance and/or trolling. Either way, your bind9 'scripts' aren't worth us having in our infrastructure, since, shockingly, sysadmin'ing is what i do for a living (and i'm actually fairly decent at it)
Oh, the temporary farming out of our dns does not make me happy because the people we're farming it out to use bind, which is why their hosting is so shitty (it takes 6 minutes for them to update my zone, vs ~10s for me) |

Sometimes I'm connected to isohunt but the page is plain empty.
I still don't get any topic-reply-notifications, has this something to do with these changes? |

Bind fails, end of story. Yes, theres like 43095423041284 scripts to use with it, but it still fails due to memory footprint and security related issues, and if you need a script to edit a zonefile then you don't deserve root. And speaking from experience, two nameserver locations are enough - generally if someone can drop out two datacenters at once, they can drop three. |

I'm not sure what's changed, but I can now get at the site via AOL Desktop.
EDIT: Make that "I could". It's gone back to not working again. |

I'm currently located in Toronto , Ontario, Canada... Since this change i've noticed a dramatic drop in transfer speeds, and for some reason BT is stating that i'm restricted due to firewall or router issues.. i've checked both multiple times, nothing at this end is the error.. I'm in college right now pursuing my ticket for "computer, network, and internet security specialist" so i already know all about the routing, configurations, and even setup and implimentation of cisco... this has got me stumped, unless its an issue at your end.. again.. i cant trace where the issue originates, i get a time out error..
i cant download a full torrent without the connection being interrupted, thus making the file corrupt.. i've been "peeved" right off on a few now, seeing as they were 95% and 98% complete..

That is nothing to do with Isohunt - read the first post in this topic then have a think to yourself. |

before the update everything was ok. But now i don't know what happen. Sometimes i can't get the site; i try ie7 and firefox the site is loading but the connection interrupted and i have a empty page. With safari i can get it only if i change my user agent for ie7 or firefox.
I think there is a problem with url rewriting !!!
| Code: |
| " can’t open the page. The error was: “unknown error” (CFURLErrorDomain:302) " |
i'm wrong or it's just a bug with my browser i don't think it's work fine |

OMG! I''ve nver experienced a pop-up, down- time problems (apart through my own stupidity/naievity when i first joinde IH), slow downloads (i've only experimented once with torrenting/uploading and did it first time. Again no problems). Am I just licky (sorry, i mean lucky)?
I've got a friend in a US military compound in Dubai who now has no access probs to IH but he use's some kind of satelite link (Test'97) from the Ukraine to do it (it's a portable gizmo). Maybe that negates the OP question?
Edit] This is what my mate in Ukraine is using
Ooops! Wrong link, here's the correct one http://www.groundcontrol.com/BGAN-mobile-internet.htm |
