The torrent is safer becouse you'll now from the comments what it is but from the dc++ you'll never now. Sometimes there is always a virus on files fromd dc++

I think DC++ is quicker though because you can get full speeds where torrent can be very up and down due to the fact you can have few seeds and many leechers. I thnk DC++ is 1on1 so you can get very high speeds if they have good upload speed while you download.

Laughing someone got banned?, well i personally think they both have their ups and downs, direct connect is great in a way because i tend to find some rare files and it downloads quicker sometimes, where as bit torrent has the more popular stuff, and latest releases, where as direct connect tends to be things a little less current.

I used to use DC++ about 5-6 years ago before I started using isoHunt and torrents.
Now I nearly always use torrents rather than IRC, although occasionally I may not be able to find something on BT but I can find it on IRC, so I do tend to use it(IRC) sometimes, though I don't actually use the DC++ software, I just use mIRC or X-Chat.
I do prefer torrents though, usually get much, much better speeds.
And as long as you know what you're downloading, you don't have to worry about a fake file.

DC is better with downloading "Hard Fingind" files, and Torrent with downloading full CD:s, DVD Movies, games etc.
