OK so Here's the steps; all you need is a game ISO and its No-CD crack

-1. Extract the contents of the ISO to a folder (with a program like PowerISO)
-2. Find the "setup.exe" (or similar) to begin installation
-3. Once installed, apply a working No-CD crack (www.gamecopyworld.com)
-4. What? you think there's more? well there ain't. Play the Game already!

anyway, i have used this method on CoD4, Assassin's Creed, Rainbow 6 vegas, DooM 3, Oblivion (and expansions), Fable: Lost Chapters and Warcraft III, GTA 3, GTA VicE City and it would have worked in Bioshock but i have yet to find a working No-CD crack. not only does this remove the need to mount and dismount and virtual drive crap, but it completely stomps the possibility of Emulation detection (read: SecuROM blues), since its totally out of its element. i was too lazy to go through all that iso drive mount and stuff, its why i found another easier, quicker way. this one. now i was wondering a few things: does anyone use (or even know of this method), if you have used it could you tell me of any instance it DID NOT work. just kinda want to get a feel for where people are about this method tell if you love/hate it. any I hope sharing this helps ya'll out.

!ATTENCION! just to make clear, this is for game ISO's only, and its imperative you have a working No-CD crack to apply to the game, to be sure the crack you downloaded will function properly, I strongly recommend downloading any crack from www.gamecopyworld.com AND to check the current version number of the game to you wish to crack and the Cracked exe's version number, ALWAYS backup the original exe before applying a crack, if you don't and the crack does not work, you will have to reinstall the game to get the original exe back!

universal extractor will let you right click on iso's and extract the files...

This is really only advisable for games, if you break apart bootable media it will most likely never boot again.

Absolutely I did not mean any other kind of iso, sorry if i didn't make that clear enough, but nevertheless I would not even dowload game ISO's if i didn't discover this trick. Iso mounting was such a pain for me!

no biggy man, I've just found it's best to clarify everything, because there's always somebody new floating on these forums just looking for a quick way out of whatever problem. So I attempt to insert a few warnings and "if's and's and but's) in there before someone screws something up just because they were in a hurry and didn't know better.

This kinda thing depends on how the file was packed and preapared. I have a copy of gangsters 2, and it just has the actual game files and a self-extractor. Run the extractor, run the registry file, apply the crack, done.

very true and point taken, however this post does not pertain to that method of installation and makes clear that it only should be done with game ISO's. this is because the games that already have been extracted, basically skip the "extract the contents of the ISO" step in my method. but i do not see how that has relevancy since i made clear in the !ATTENCION! part of the post.

Wouldn't this way take up twice the space? Since you have the ISO, and the extracted files. Plus the installed files, that's a lot of HD space.

That would be 3 times the space.

However if you deleted the files after install.........

Not really since it's ISO and installed files vs. ISO, installed files, and extracted files. The ISO and installed files are common to both. It seems like the ISO is a little bigger than the extracted files, and the installed files take up a little more space than the ISO. So.. technically it would only be about 1.5 times the space, approximately. Wink

What I think is the smallest use of space is just a game rip. No ISO, just installed files.

This works, but if your a pack rat with multiple hard drives you probably wouldn't do this anyway, isos are very convenient and portable even.

I'm glad to see this method is generally accepted, seeing as how this is my very first thread, but personally i like having the the open install files rather than the ISO; just my preference. I also like how i actually had something to contribute to the ISOhunt community, it feels quite satisfying. Smile

Go tell me to F**K off but this is the only way i have ever done it with iso files, seems like a waste of time and DVD'd any other way. of course delete the iso after extraction (but I have 1.5tb of HD's so I keep the extracted files to put on disks for friends)

well, it's pretty easy, that's the basic instructions any cracker gives... Duh

only diff is you use the power Iso to look into the iso or any disc image before doing other thing.

1. install (obviously you first burn your disc image or View it w/ Power-iso)
2. Apply crack (many come auto, but other is simply to replace the .exe)

it's up to you how difficult or easy you want a program/game installation wanted to be...

just an add-on: you can put into the disc image the crack folder using power iso or any other image viewer program and saving it. Then burn, so everything gets together.

I just prefer to keep the folder open with the install files ready to run, im not a huge fan a burning everything, i have terabytes of hard drive space so room isnt a problem. just my way, also easy for me since i if a friend wants it, i could burn it, or slap it on a usb drive and install it. many crackers say to burn but i like to install from the hard drive, just my preference Smile

I hope it's not really Off Topic , but if and when I dl .iso's, I, personally, usually burn them. But before I do, I always extract them to my HD first so I can virus-scan the files in it. Then I delete that folder, burn and install....

Just a thought. Not real tech-savvy here, but if I'm able to copy files into an .iso file, I would think I'd also be able to copy a trojan or something into it as well, to have it install when -whoever- installs the game. I'd never do that, but to place myself into the shoes of a dickhead...

Maybe it's not possible to do the whole trojan in an .iso thing. I'm not sure, but like I said, just a thought.
